We're looking for people interested in contributing to feedback sessions on product enhancements. Sessions range from 15 minutes to 1 hour, and are usually conducted remotely over the internet.

How does it work?

Let everyone know about your great ideas to improve Aconex. Click the Submit a new idea link and complete the idea form. Others (including the Aconex product team) can comment on your ideas, and you can add comments too. It’s a bit like having a discussion online, and can help your ideas evolve and strengthen.

Everyone gets twenty votes to allocate to the ideas they like best (you can assign up to three votes to your favorites) and you can move your votes around if a better idea comes up. Viable ideas get priority according to the number of votes they get. The product team will regularly review ideas and assign a status to help you judge where to assign your votes. They’ll also link similar ideas to broaden the discussion.

Recent Ideas

  1. Ability to create one mailing group which distinguishes the "To" and "Cc" recipients.

    We have the need on our project to control the flow of mails between users. One way of doing this would be to allow the creation of a mailing group that can contain both To, Cc and Bcc recipients so that we can have a process in place that people select the correct group and it goes to all required users.

  2. Auto numbering documents using the defined metadata fields

    Enable autonumbering of documents on projects using the defined metadata fields, such as the project, discipline, document type, and adding the next available sequence number for that combination. The benefits are that time is saved in having to search documents for the last number used in order to number a new document. In some cases doc controllers will use a spreadsheet to track numbers used.

  3. Auto-populate the response due date based on the mail type selected

    We have a number of contractual mails in use on the project that organizations are required to reply to in an agreed timeframe as set out in the contract. We need the ability for Aconex to auto-populate the Response Required date with the dates based on our project. For example, all organizations on the project have 3 business days to respond to an RFI and it would help us manage this process if Aconex automatically set this so people do not forget.

  4. 'My Documents' area to watch certain documents in my register

    Allow users to 'watch' documents in their register buy adding into a virtual 'My Documents' folder sot they are updated when something changes without them having to be sent them on a transmittal internally.

  5. Have a short cut on the task page to invite new user to project

    I think we need a short cut on the tasks page to invite user to project.

    When you click on the short cut it takes you straight to the address book with the global directory selected, there the person searches for the user to be added and selects them and then they click on the OK button and it should take them to a new mail with the user added and with a small auto text just say they are invited to the project.
