Aconex Field project roles

Every person using Aconex Field has a project role, which comes with specific responsibilities and access privileges.

Field's project roles allow organisations to easily control and manage what your people can do in Aconex Field. There are two types of roles in Aconex Field – access roles and administrator roles.

Access roles

An access role allows a person to login to Aconex Field on a project, and determines what they can actually do with issues on that project.

Inspector role

Inspectors are able to:

  • view issues that their organization has either created or been assigned, or which have been shared to their organization
  • generate reports
  • create, assign and reinspect issues
  • edit and close issues that their organization has created
  • send lists.

Assignee role

Assignees can:

  • view issues that their organization has either created or been assigned, or which have been shared to their organization
  • generate reports
  • rectify an issue by changing its status to ' Work done', to inform the Inspector the status of an issue that their organization has been assigned.

Observer role

Observers are able to:

  • view issues that their organization has either created or been assigned, or which have been shared with their organization
  • generate reports.

Administrator roles

Administrator roles allow a person to access their organization's settings for a project in Aconex Field.

Project Administrator role

Project Administrators are able to:

  • perform all actions under the Inspector role
  • manage the access to Aconex Field for people in their organisation
  • manage the organisations their organization works with
  • create and edit the auto-suggest lists for their organisation
  • create and edit areas for the project
  • create and edit issue types for the project.
