Understanding implementation roles and responsibilities
During implementation, we’ll have a lot of discussions and decisions will be made. We recommend creating a team that includes the following people:
|Role||Responsibilities||Likely job title|
|Executive sponsor||Commercial decision maker who identifies success criteria and drives the team to maximize the value in Aconex.||Project Director, General Manager, National Program Manager|
|Steering committee||Pursues collaboration and ensures configuration meets needs for stakeholders. Provides guidance on business priorities and final approval for Go Live.||Information Manager, QA/QC Manager, Construction Manager, Project Manager, Project Controls, Design Manager|
|Subject matter experts||Provide use case for managing information. Implement agreed processes and provide support, quality control, and auditing.||Engineering Manager, Discipline Lead, Technical Manager, Document Control Manager|
|Champions||Advanced users who participate in day-to-day execution of Aconex. Able to answer questions and support the roll-out.||Document Controller, Site Manager, Contracts Administrator, Engineering Disciplines|
Additionally, each user will have specific access to system functionality, depending on their role in your organization. You can read more about user roles here.
Organization and Project Administrators have the ability to change a variety of settings as well as run other key tasks such as creating new user accounts. You should be identify these people and make sure they are trained during the delivery phase.
The Aconex team
Implementing Aconex is not some thing you’d normally do on your own: there’ll be a team of people using their experience to support your project from the initial meetings all the way through to roll out.
This team usually consists of the following roles. Of course, your point of contact will depend on the agreement created for your specific project needs.
|Service Desk||Global team available 24/7. Contact us form, email or phone, providing support in multiple languages.|
|Consultant||Execution of product implementation, project support and client relationship.|
|Client Services Manager||Oversee successful implementation and service as well as point of escalation.|
|Regional Client Services Manager||Overall responsibility and management of the Client Services team. Drives customer experience, effective implementation and service.|
|Industry Consultant||Industry experience for additional consulting needs, business analysis and process engineering.|
|Product Specialist||Provide expertise on the implementation and use of specific products or modules.|
|Engagement Manager||Change management and planning for large, complex engagements. Single point of contact for optimal use of Aconex including reporting on agreed success criteria|
|Account Manager||Management of the commercial agreement, account relationship and growth.|
