To improve capacity and performance on Aconex’s Middle East instance (mea.aconex.com), we are moving to a new, state-of-the-art data center on 3 June 2016, from 00:00-09:00 GST.
In this release we launch Groups –a powerful new feature that allows you to create a group of users from different organizations on a project and give them specific role permissions for Mail and Documents. You’ll also see a number of improvements in Workflows, some BIM refinements, some UI enhancements in Mail and bug fixes that should make everything work just that little bit better
This release features a number of Mail and Documents enhancements, and delivers an exciting change to the use of Supplier Documents – it can now be used for internal processes as well as those relating to external organizations.
It’s a big release for Aconex Connected BIM this cycle, with BIM being launched for all users of Aconex, rolling out project-by-project over the coming weeks. On top of that, Connected BIM has gone mobile! Learn how you can experience on-the-go convenience with Connected BIM mobile for tablets.
The new Document Properties view has now been rolled out across Aconex – all you need to know about a document wherever you are in the system.
This release introduces Contextual Mail which will improve the accuracy of mail type selection for your project.
We’ve also updated the Mail text editor - editing and formatting mails will be a much richer experience from now on - you can even work in tables within a mail.
Note that some of the items mentioned here will be released during this 30-day release cycle, rather than at its start. You may not see some of these additions until later in the cycle.
If you use Aconex Mail or Documents, this release is good news for you.
First up, we’ve added new Restricted Fields functionality to the project owner’s Mail configuration toolkit. Users in the project owning company can now add private notes to mail in a structured, searchable way.
The new Mail search now has an Advanced Search panel that makes it easy to access all possible search filters before you search. We’ve streamlined results filtering, too. And those who use Aconex in Arabic now have access to all the Mail search functionality—including Mail Details searching.
This release sees our new Mail search moved out of beta and into the Aconex application. While the old Mail search is still available, it won’t be from the end of 2015, so we’ve switched everyone to the new search automatically in this release.
We’ve also released the first piece of work around the Document Properties page, which is a new version history panel that allows you to browse prior versions of a given document on your project. And we now include project-wide saved searches in the Copy Project feature.
