Edit Document field values inline

Learn how to add and edit the values in the document fields inline

If your Project Admin has given you permission to edit single-and multiple-select document fields on your project, you can edit them right from these Aconex document pages:

  1. Single Upload page, which is shown below

  2. Single Supersede page

  3. Copy-To Panel of the Move to Register page

  4. Copy-To Panel of the Bulk Supersede page.

Remember always that any change you make will affect the entire project — and all organizations using those fields — going forward. You may want to communicate any change you plan to make to all project stakeholders in advance so they’re aware that you’re making the change, and they understand the reasons behind it.

Tip!

You’ll only have access to this feature if your company owns the project, and your Project Administrator has given you the ability to edit document field values.

  1. Select your project in the Project Selector at the top of the page.

  2. Click the Documents tab and navigate to any of these areas:

    1. Single Upload page

    2. Single Supersede page

    3. the Copy-To Panel of the Move to Register page

    4. the Copy-To Panel of the Bulk Supersede page.

  3. Find the field whose values you want to edit and click the edit icon.

Tip!

If you don’t see the icon, it’s because you don’t have permission to edit the fields. If you need permission, speak with someone in your organization who has Project Admin privileges.

  1. To:

    1. find a value, use the search box at top right

    2. delete a value, click the cross icon to its right

    3. add a value, type it into the field at the bottom of the page and click the add icon.

  2. Click Save to save your changes.
