Updating project information in Oracle Aconex Mobile

Get the latest project updates down to your mobile device.

As you use Oracle Aconex Mobile to carry out your day-to-day tasks, project information and settings may be updated by your Project Administrator using the Aconex web application. Additionally, there will be times where you'll need to refresh the contents of a list. For example, you may have new issues assigned to you or there may be a revised version of a drawing available.

Oracle Aconex Mobile allows you to get the latest project updates down to your device. Simply ‘pull-to-refresh’ on the appropriate screen until you see the refresh icon, and wait for the refresh to complete. Oracle Aconex Mobile will inform you when the refresh finishes.

Tip!

The ‘pull-to-refresh’ action only downloads updates from the server to your device. It does not publish data from your device to the server.

Updating Issues

From Issues, pull down the list to update:

  • the latest set of issues and any updates to your existing issues list.
  • the latest project settings to manage issues, which include: Area Hierarchy, Issues Types and Project Fields, Issue Description Suggestions, Location Details Suggestions, and Issue Assignee List.

Updating Inspections

From Inspections, pull down the list to update:

  • the latest set of inspections and any updates to your existing inspections list.
  • the latest project settings for raising issues from checklists, which include: Area Hierarchy, Issues Types and Project Fields, Issue Description Suggestions, Location Details Suggestions, and Issue Assignee List.

To update the list of Inspection Templates, tap the + icon to view the list of available templates and pull down the list to refresh.

Updating Drawings

From Drawings, pull down the list to update:

  • the latest versions of the current set of drawings, including those downloaded to your device.
  • the latest project settings for enabling pin to plan, which include: Area Hierarchy, Issues Types and Project Fields, Issue Description Suggestions, Location Details Suggestions, and Issue Assignee List.

Updating the Projects list

From the home screen access the project list by tapping your currently selected project at the top of the screen. Pull down the list to update the list of projects you have access to. This action will:

  • show new projects that you have been invited to.
  • remove projects that you no longer have access to or are no longer active. All data downloaded on your mobile device for such projects will also be removed from your device.

Tip!

Refreshing your project list can sometimes resolve problems with missing Module icons.  For example, if you cannot see the Drawings icon on the home screen, try to refresh the project list.  

How do I know the update completed?

In Oracle Aconex Mobile, you can see when the current screen was last updated from the message at the bottom of the screen.  See the example below from an iOS device showing as ‘Updated 26 minutes ago’.

Pull the list to update it. You will see a rotating wheel at the top of the list, indicating your request to update is being processed.

After the update completes, the rotating wheel will disappear and you will see "Updated just now" at the bottom of the screen, indicating this screen and relevant project settings are updated on your device.
