Transmitting a package

You can send a package transmittal directly from Packages.

If you are working with a large number of documents, there are restrictions to the number you can transmit. These are the same limits as those for the Mail Module.

The maximum number of documents that can be sent on any one transmittal is 1000, and the maximum weighting (documents by recipient organizations) is 5000. This means that if you are sending less than 1000 documents then the number of recipient organizations can increase as long as the overall weighting remains less than 5000.

For example, if you are sending 50 documents on a transmittal, you could send it to 100 recipient organizations, as 50 * 100 = 5000.

Tip!

The people you transmit the package to will only be able to view the package and its contents – unless you add them as an administrator or editor of the package. You cannot send package to guest users.

Your organization administrator controls who has the ability to transmit a package. If you don’t have permission, you won’t see a Send Package button.

  1. In Packages, select a package from the Package register.

  2. Click Send Package.

  1. The Send Package window will open. The Send to field will be pre-populated with any administrators or editors of the package.
  2. Click in the Send to field and start typing to add more recipients.
  3. Complete the subject line.

You’ll also see an indication of the number of documents being transmitted.

  1. Enter a message if required.
  2. Click Send to transmit the package.

All recipients will be notified in Mail. It will be labeled Package Transmittal.

Tip!

Admin Tip: A user doesn't need the ability to create a transmittal to send a Package.
