Mozilla Firefox: Recommended Configuration

Follow this guide on setting up Mozilla Firefox for the best Aconex experience.

Aconex supports the latest version the Mozilla Firefox browser.

When using Aconex, you may need to:

  • Clear your browser history.
  • Set recommended browser configuration when using Aconex to allow Aconex websites to display pop-up windows and store cookies.
  • Make sure you know how to use the Firefox spell checker.

How to clear your browser history

Your browser stores information from websites and uses this cached information instead of downloading the information again to improve browsing speed. If you’re having an issue with Aconex, clearing your browser history may fix the problem.

  1. From the Navigation toolbar in Mozilla Firefox, click  Library > History and select Clear Recent History.
  1. Choose Everything from the Time range to clear list.
  2. Select all checkboxes except Site Preferences, and click the Clear Now button.

Allowing Pop-ups from Aconex Websites

If you’ve chosen to block pop-up windows, you can change your settings to allow pop-up windows for Aconex websites.

  1. From the Navigation toolbar in Mozilla Firefox, select Options.
  1. Click Privacy and Security.
  2. Click the Exceptions button to the right of the Block pop-up windows checkbox.
  1. Enter the website address for your Aconex instance in the Address of web site field. 
  1. Click the Allow button.
  1. Click Save Changes.

Changing your Privacy Level – Allowing cookies for Aconex Websites

If you’ve set your browser to not accept cookies, you can change your setting to allow cookies from Aconex websites.

  1. From the Navigation toolbar in Mozilla Firefox, select Options.
  1. Click Privacy and Security.
  2. Scroll down until you see the heading Cookies and site data.
  3. Click Manage Permissions.
  1. Enter the website address for your Aconex instance in the Address of web site field. 
  2. Click the Allow button.
  1. Click Save Changes.
