Install Aconex Local Copy
Activating the installation wizard
You can install Local Copy as a Windows Service or as a regular Windows program. Installing Local Copy as a Windows Service means it will continue running in the background – you won't need to log in every time you restart your computer.
Follow the steps below for installing Local Copy on Microsoft Windows. You can download it here [1].

In Windows Explorer, browse to the location you saved the Local Copy Installer folder.

Double-click on Aconex Local Copy Install for Windows.bat. Note that you may need Administrator privileges to run the program.
Completing the installation wizard
- Click the Next button.
- Read the license agreement, and, if you accept the terms, select I accept the terms of this license agreement.
- Click the Next button.

You will need to scroll to the end of the license agreement before you can click the Next button.
- Specify the Aconex instances, server and origin that you’d like to verify. The ports will be automatically verified.

- As the instance, server, and origin are verified, you will see green ticks appear. Click Next.

You’ll see a confirmation message. Click OK to create the Local Copy folder in the location you chose.

If you don’t want to receive notification emails from Aconex Local Copy, skip to step 15. Otherwise, complete the email account details as follows:

Email address | Enter the email address you want notifications to be sent to. |
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) | Enter the name of your outgoing mail server. |
Server Port | Enter the port number used by your outgoing mail server. |
- If your email server requires authentication, select the Server requires authentication check box, and complete the authentication details as follows:

Password | Enter the password for this account. |
Encrypt using | Choose the encryption protocol your mail system uses. |
- Click the Test Email Account Settings button.

You’ll see a connection confirmation message. Click OK.

Click the Next button.

The page shows a list of software that will be installed. Click Next to install the software.

If a Security Alert message from Windows Firewall appears during the installation, click the Allow access button to continue.

Click the Next button when the package installation is complete.

If you’re using Windows, you’ll see the Setup Shortcuts page. If you don’t want to create Local Copy shortcuts on the:

Start menu, deselect the Create shortcuts in the Start-Menu checkbox.

Desktop, deselect the Create additional shortcuts on the desktop checkbox.

- Click the Next button.

You can enter a different shortcut folder name if you’d like to.

If you don’t want to start Local Copy Manager now, deselect the Launch Aconex Local Copy checkbox. Otherwise, leave it checked.

Click the Done button to finish the installation process.
