September 2022

In the 22.09.100 release you'll find an easier way to upload historical documents, a new-look Model Coordination plug-in, and a way to reassign or delegate your markups.

This release is for:
  • Document Admins wanting a faster way to upload historical documents.
  • Package Admins wanting more detailed exports.
  • Reviewers who need to include draft markups when delegating or reassigning documents.
  • Revit users looking to save some time.
  • API users looking to view user permissions.

Aconex

What's new

A new way to log in is coming

  • We're making it easier to log into Aconex.
  • Soon you'll see a new single login screen no matter how you log in.
  • Just enter your login name or email address and you'll be taken to the correct screen to access Aconex.
  • This applies if you log in using a login name and password, 2SV, SSO, or the Lobby
  • Read more about the new way to log in

Documents

Improvements and fixes

These bugs are squashed

  • We’ve fixed the bug causing incorrect date formats when exporting the Document Register to Excel.
  • Some of you discovered that running the Transmittal History by Organization or Transmittal History by Document reports with a large number of documents gave a blank screen. This is fixed and your reports will run as expected.
  • A bug in the new upload changed a manual document number to an auto-numbered one when superseding the document. This only occurred if the project had auto-numbering enabled. Some of you liked this bug so we’ve added a check box letting you choose to change to auto-numbering or to keep the document with manual numbering.
  • You'll now be advised if your Bulk Processing metadata spreadsheet has date errors. Previously we fixed this for CSV files and now the fix includes both CSV and Excel files.

Improving your experience

  • On projects with lots of cascading metadata, the Add more button is now only available after the cascading has fully loaded.
  • If a cascading drop down child field contains only one value, we'll automatically select it for you, saving a click.
  • The new upload now lets you update multiple versions of the same document in a single metadata template. This is useful when bringing multiple versions of older documents into Aconex.
    • You need one version of the document uploaded before you can add versions.
    • There’s a maximum of 50 versions per documents per upload.
    • Add the versions of documents in the desired sequence i.e. oldest first and to newest last.

Viewer

What's new

Delegate your drafts

  • Do you need to delegate or re-assign documents you’ve edited in the Viewer?
  • Now you can include drafts, with markups, when delegating or re-assigning your documents.
  • Markups must be published before delegating or re-assigning the document to others.
  • Previously markups weren't included when delegating or re-assigning documents.

Packages

Improvements and fixes

More details for Mail exports

  • In release 22.01 we increased security and removed images with links from Mail exports.
  • Now if images are removed from Mail exports, we'll include a text file letting you know which mails had images removed and links to the images.

Bug fixing and housekeeping

  • A bug occurred on HK1 that gave an incorrect date for date filters in saved searches. This has been fixed and the filters now give the correct dates.
  • The Updates Available Packages Register values can now be hidden for closed packages.

Getting ready for something new

  • We've renamed some things on the Package settings page to allow for upcoming features.
  • The Transmittal Settings menu tab is now called Package Settings.
  • And the Packages Transmittal Settings page is now called Package Settings.

Models

What's new

A new-look Model Coordination plug-in

  • You'll see a new Issue list.
    • An updated list now loads faster.
    • Click an issue card to open the viewpoint and details at one time.
    • Hover over the issue thumbnail and click Preview to view the full snapshot.
  •  Issues filtering is more flexible.
    • Select multiple filter options.
    • No more pop-ups. Filters now open in the same panel.
    • We've removed the default filter, so you see all issues.
  • A new format for issue details.
    • You'll see design issue data in three tabs: details, related models, and comments.
    • The tabs make it easier to switch between information without pop-ups blocking the screen.
    • Edit the issue in the same panel.
    • We've also updated the navigation between issues.
  • Learn more about using Revit with Aconex

Improvements and fixes

Better tags in Revit format file models

  • We've improved room and space tags.
  • Now tags have the room and space names and numbers.

Easier publishing models to the Document Register

  • Now it's just one click to publish models from Revit to the document register.
  • The currently open model will be uploaded.
  • If you're logged in to the Revit plugin, there's no need to also log into Aconex.

Cost

Improvements and fixes

We fixed a bug

  • A bug in the Direct Actuals Custom Report gave incorrect data.
  • We've added two mandatory filters to ensure you get the correct data.
  • Now you need to select the reporting period type and control element type.
  • If you've already created reports with direct actuals, you'll need to edit and add the filters.

Insights

Improvements and fixes

More helpful filters

  • We've re-arranged filters and they're now grouped by subject area. This is on both the pre-filter and report preview screens.

Project fields are now in field issues

  • You'll now find project fields as a supporting subject area of field issues.

Some bugs are gone

  • Disabled organizations were appearing in some Mail reports filters. This is fixed and those organizations no longer appear.
  • We fixed an issue in the printable Cost reports. Now the upstream organization and upstream contact display correctly when contract is a subject area in reports.
  • The bug ignoring filters on the Workflow steps subject area is fixed and the filters now work as expected.

Making dates easier to read

  • No more counting months. The date in the Field Usage report is now formatted as MMM-YYYY, so Sep-2022.

API

What's new

A new API for Admins

  • Org Admins with appropriate permissions can now use the new User Role API.
  • It contains:
    • User Role Search (Organization): this returns user roles and their corresponding secured assets for an organization.
    • User Search (User Role): this returns users assigned to a user role in an organization.

Improvements and fixes

Adding to the Package APIs

  • Now you can get a package's distribution list via API.
  • The existing Package GET API has been updated to include distribution list link.
  • A new external API has been added: Package Distribution List GET.
  • Read more about Package APIs
