In release 22.10.100, you'll find an easier way to update document metadata, pasting images into Mail, and more improvements and features in Field.

This release is for:
  • Document Controllers wanting an easier way to update metadata
  • Everyone who's asked to paste images into Mail
  • Field Admins that want more control and information with inspections
  • Org Admins on AU1 and EU1 who want more organization report options.

Documents

What's new

Metadata only updates

  • Saving you time, you can now update just the metadata using the new upload tool. 
  • Choose if you're uploading or updating documents (ie, the file and metadata) or just updating the metadata.
  • This works with last month's update letting you update multiple versions of a document in a single metadata template. 
  • We've also updated some menu names because you can now do more than add documents or placeholders.
    • The Add Documents menu has been changed to Add/Update Documents.
    • The Add Placeholders menu has been changed to Add/Update Placeholders.

See more documents at a glance

  • You'll notice the Document Register lists 100 documents per page, by default.
  • This can be changed back to 25, or another option by clicking the link in the footer.

Improvements and fixes

These bugs are gone

  • We fixed a bug affecting checkbox field types in the metadata templates. The check box fields work consistently with the language preference and the error messages in the new upload are working as expected.
  • You reported an issue when adding a confidential document as a related item. Now if you add a confidential document as a related item, it stays visible when you press save.
  • Some fields in the Bulk Edit screen were not loading and were unable to be edited. We fixed this and the fields display accurately.

Updated default sorting in search screens

  • We've updated the sort order in the Document Register, Drawing, and Temporary Files search screens.
  • By default you'll see files sorted by the Document No column in ascending order. This matches the function in the classic search.
  • We've also made your experience consistent and your sorting choices will stay the same if you change screen or need to log back in again.

Mail

What's new

Copy and paste images

  • Your wait is over, now you can paste or drag images directly into Mail.
  • See your images in the Mail body on web, Aconex Mobile or via the Outlook plugin.
  • Images can be copied and pasted or dragged and dropped into Mail.
  • You can use JPG, PNG, and GIF file types.
  • All images are included in Package exports.
  • There's a 3MB image size limit per Mail. We'll show an alert if your images are too big.

What's new

See more with the new Viewer on Mobile

  • Adding to the 22.08 release, you can use the new viewer for attachments in punchlists, daily reports, mail, issues, and inspections.
  • The new viewer renders files faster and gives you the same markup functions as web.

Configure your daily reports

  • Report Admins, you now have more configuration options for your daily reports.
  • You can rename, edit, and add custom fields to your reports.
  • See a live preview, as you configure the reports.
  • Reports configured on web will display on mobile.
  • We've also refreshed the module with a new look.
  • Visit the Daily Reports section in Field's Project settings to make changes.

Get more control with hold points

  • Are your inspections complex? Set hold points to control the line items.
  • This helps when some line items may be conditional. Set a hold point to hide items until they're needed.
  • Also, you can set a hold point for when Inspectors need approval from an engineer or consultant before finishing the inspection.
  • Available on web and mobile.

  • We've added two new statuses for your inspections. 
  • Instead of Open, your active inspection status will be either Not Started or In Progress.
  • This lets you track what's ready to go and what is being done now.
  • We'll update the status automatically, based on current progress. 
  • This will be automatically available on web and Aconex Mobile.

Making Cost easier for you

  • You'll see the Cost Worksheet configured manual field is now called Control Account. This is to allow for upcoming functionality.
  • We've updated some tool tips and added some new ones, making it easier for you to navigate the Cost Worksheet.
  • You told us that control element name and type columns would make the direct actuals grid better, so we've added those.
  • Now you can import up to 1,500 payment applications at once. Previously, the batch maximum was 500.

What's new

New organization reports available on more instances - these reports have been move to a future release

  • Org Admins on AU1 and EU1 have two new reports:
    • Hosted Name User report: see details of users from all organizations across all projects owned by your organization
    • User Details, Assignment and Configuration report: list user details from your organization across all projects that your organization is a part of
  • All Org Admins get these reports by default and can grant permissions to other roles.
  • These organization reports contain info for other projects and may not be appropriate for all users.
  • When activated, you'll see them on the Organization tab in Reports.

  • The Configured fields (manual & calculated) APIs are now available to use.

New APIs for Project and Org Admins

  • Project and Org Admins, you can see more of your user's details via APIs.
    • User Role Search (Project) - a read API to fetch user roles and their respective secured assets in a project.
    • User Search (User Role – Project) - a read API to fetch users assigned to a user role in a project.
    • User Entitlements (Organization) - a read API to see the user roles assigned to a user in an organization.
    • User Entitlements (Project) - a read API for to see the user roles assigned to a user in a project.
    • Create User Role (Organization) - an API to create a new user role in an organization.

We'll start the release on October 5, but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle. View schedule.
