November 2022

In the 22.11.100 release, you'll find an improved way to search Documents, an extra way to add Mail field values, and more.

This release is for:
  • People wanting a more customizable way to search Documents.
  • Project Admins wanting to add or edit your Mail field values while sending Mail.
  • Inspectors needing to see more details for active inspections.

Documents

What's new

An improved way to search Documents

  • We listened to your feedback and combined the best of the classic and new search features for a new, improved Documents search.
  • Saving you a click. Now we will display all documents for you in your register when you open the Document Register or Drawings screens.
  • The search bar can be found along the top of the screen.
  • You have more control over filters.
    • All searchable field filters will be pinned in both the Document Register and Drawings by default.
    • Project Admins can now pin filters in an order that works for your project.
    • Anyone who currently uses pinned filters can keep their current configuration or choose to use the project level default.
    • If you have a personal preference, you can pin only your favorite filters for a customized pinned filter set up, regardless of the project settings.
    • Filters not pinned are always accessible via a More Filters option found below any pinned filters.
  • We've combined the date filters back to a Date Type filter.
    • If you pin the Date Type filter, all Date Type fields are automatically pinned.
    • Pin or un-pin this field as a set; it will always be placed in a separate row from other filters.
    • Use the Add another date query function to add as many Date Type filters as you need.
    • Simply click the Trash icon to remove extra date fields.
  • Project and Org Admins can set the project-wide default order of pinned filters in project preferences.
    • Re-order filters by drag and drop, or check one or more boxes to move them as a group using the arrows.
    • Only project-owning Project and Org Admins can change the filter order.
    • You can have a different default filter arrangement for each the Document Register and the Drawings.
    • Any user can re-set their personal setup to the project default.
  • If you're searching temporary files, you'll find project field filters in the More Filters section by default.
  • New search users will be automatically updated with the improved search features.
  • Classic search will be retired in the coming months, but you can choose to switch now.

Improvements and fixes

We fixed some bugs

  • Admins, you can now give users permission to just create placeholders in the new upload. Previously, users needed upload documents permissions to create placeholders.
  • We fixed a specific scenario so the status can now be retained when updating other fields of a document. This only occurred if your organization was not allocated to use a particular status for that document.

Upload new documents and placeholders in bulk

  • We've improved on a recent update letting you upload multiple versions of the same document in a single metadata template.
  • Now you can create the original new document at the same time as the other versions.
  • Previously, you needed to upload an original document before adding versions.
  • There’s a maximum of 50 versions per documents per upload.
  • Add the versions of documents in the desired sequence i.e. oldest first and to newest last.

Mail

What's new

Add Mail field values – inline

  • Now you can add or edit your Mail field values while sending Mail.
  • This is the same functionality you already have in Documents.
  • When creating a Mail with inline editing, click the pencil icon to edit the fields.
  • Project-owning Org Admins and Project Admins need to enable inline editing for their users.
    • We've re-named the user role permission from Edit Project Field select-list values on upload/update to Edit Project Field select-list values.
    • Then, when creating a project field, check the box to enable inline editing for it.

Packages

Improvements and fixes

We've added clearer indicators and messages

  • When viewing documents in a package, the Updates Available columns now tells you if the document is a new version or revision, or up-to-date.
  • Now we'll tell you which documents are impacted when you need to manually register documents from a transmittal or when the registration has failed.

Export Primavera Cloud schedule activity

  • If you've integrated Primavera Cloud Schedule activity, you can now include these details when you export your packages.
  • Your Package Excel report includes the schedule activity name on the Properties tab.
  • A new Schedule tab holds all the schedule details.

Some bugs were squashed

  • A bug occurred where some Mail linked to Packages weren't appearing in Package Mail. Now all Mail is visible in the package.
  • Some of you encountered a blank Package settings page. We fixed the bug and you'll now see the settings on that page.
  • Ever wanted to re-send a Package to the same person? We've removed the limit on how many times you can re-send a Package.

Field

Improvements and fixes

Punchlist issues can now be removed

  • Have you ever accidentally added an extra issue to a punchlist?
  • Now you can remove issues that you added by mistake.
  • You'll see a Remove option on the punchlists page.
  • Up to 300 issues can be removed at a time.
  • You can still find issues removed from punchlists in the Issues list.

New Inspection statuses are here

  • Last month we announced more detailed statuses for active inspections.
  • Instead of Open, your active inspection status will be either Not Started or In Progress.
  • This lets you track what's ready to go and what is being done now.
  • We'll update the status automatically; you don't need to do anything.
  • This will be automatically available on web and Aconex Mobile.

Insights

What's new

An extra standard report

  • The Transmittal History by Organization report helps you see which documents were transmitted per organization. It also shows if the latest revision has been sent to that organization.

Improvements and fixes

New organization reports available on more instances

  • Org Admins on AU1 and EU1 have two new reports:
    • Hosted Name User report: see details of users from all organizations across all projects owned by your organization
    • User Details, Assignment and Configuration report: list user details from your organization across all projects that your organization is a part of
  • All Org Admins get these reports by default and can grant permissions to other roles.
  • These organization reports contain info for other projects and may not be appropriate for all users.
  • When activated, you'll see them on the Organization tab in Reports.
  • If you use CN1 and HK1, you'll see these reports in a future release. UK1 and US1 users already have access to them.

We fixed some bugs

  • Now you'll see the correct information in reporting using the workflow Step Status filter. Previously a bug caused incorrect results when Current and Overdue statuses were used together.
  • We fixed the bug that didn't always filter the results fully when using the mail form and mail subject areas. Now your report will only show the required results.

A subject area by any other name

  • We've renamed the subject area COST_PROJECT_REPORTING_PERIOD to the more friendly Reporting Periods.

Lobby

Improvements and fixes

Making signing in even easier

  • If you chose to Log in with Oracle Construction and Engineering on an instance login (such as au1.aconex.com) you're currently redirected to the Lobby to select your project.
  • With this update you'll be directed straight into the Aconex instance with the last project accessed displayed.

What's new

Do more with APIs

  • New APIs are available to help you manage user accounts. These are:
    • Create User Role (Project)
    • Update User Role (Organization)
    • Update User Role (Project)
    • Update Secured Asset permissions (Organization)
    • Update Secured Asset permissions (Project)
    • Update Users assigned to User Role (Organization)
    • Update Users assigned to User Role (Project)
    • Delete User Role (Organization)
    • Delete User Role (Project)
  • View the User Role APIs.

Aconex

Coming early next year

Making it easier to log in

  • We're making it easier to log into Aconex.
  • Starting from January, you'll see a new single login screen, no matter how you log in.
  • Just enter your login name or email address and you'll be taken to the correct screen to access Aconex.
  • This applies if you log in using a login name and password, 2SV, SSO, or the Lobby.
  • We're gradually rolling out the new screen; you don't need to do anything and your login details won't change.
  • Read more about the new way to log in

We'll start the release on November 10, but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle.
