Aconex

What's new

Logging in is easier than before

  • The new, simplified login screen we announced in September is here.
  • You'll start seeing the new screen from January.
  • The login URLs won't change, so go to your instance login screen, as normal.
  • On the new screen, enter your login name or email address and we'll automatically direct you to the correct screen for your Aconex login.
  • This applies if you log in using a login name and password, 2SV, SSO, or the Lobby, and saves you having to remember which login screen to use.
  • We're gradually rolling out the new screen across instances. You may see it before your colleagues.

Documents

Improvements and fixes

We fixed a bug or two

  • You told us about an issue stopping bulk processing from being completed if the number of documents exceeded 2,000. We've fixed this and bulk processing works as expected.
  • Is Spanish your preferred language in Aconex? We've fixed the bug in the date filters and months now show as expected.

Mail

Improvements and fixes

More detail in Mail notifications

  • Quickly see the reference number in your mail notifications.
  • It's included in notifications for all mail sent to you from other users. It is not included in system generated notifications such as a workflow transmittal.
  • Set your notifications preferences to either Notification OnlyEntire Mail body, or Entire mail body with attachment to include the reference number.

Viewer

What's new

Bulk annotation is here

  • Add stamps and markups to your documents with a single click.
  • Place one stamp or markup in the preferred location, then click the Bulk Annotation to start the process.
  • You can choose how many pages it appears on each document.
  • The undo button removes all annotations in the process, for example, if you stamped with the wrong signature.
  • There's a 10 page limit per document.

Publish more at once

  • Share markups faster from the Viewer with bulk publishing
  • From List mode, you can publish markups on up 200 documents at once.
  • Bulk publishing happens in the background. We'll let you know when the task is done.

Improvements and fixes

Fixing bugs

  • An extra Import Markups link snuck into the last update, appearing after you imported markups. The link didn't do anything so we've removed it.

Mobile

What's new

Filter Inspections - now on Mobile

  • Just like on web, now you can filter Inspections by created or last modified dates.
  • Set the start and end dates to customize your filter.

Field

Improvements and fixes

Seeing all the punchlists

  • Now you can see all your punchlists.
  • We've added page breaks to help view large volumes of punchlists.
  • Previously you could only see 100 punchlists.

Models

What's new

Introducing an updated Model Coordination plugin

  • We've updated the plugin to fully support Revit and Navisworks 2023.
  • You can run the installer to include the latest from Revit and Navisworks.

Better file sharing

  • Now you can directly upload and import files between the Documents Register and the plugin.
  • Click the Publish model button and choose Document register to open the model in Aconex.
  • This works for RVT files from Revit and NWD files from Navisworks.
  • You can also import RVT and IFC files from Revit to the Document Register.

Revit 2023 is here

  • You can now view the Revit 2023 models.
  • The new model contains Display List Values in Revit properties.
  • Revit models have been optimized to allow quicker loading.
  • We now support up to the latest Revit formats from 2017 to 2023.

Delegate coordination issue administration

  • An expanded Design Issues Administrator role lets more users administer coordination issue sets.
  • The secured asset is on the User Role Configuration page.
  • This makes things easier to move design issue sets forward if an owner or contributor is unavailable.

Improvements and fixes

More details for exported design issues

  • Design issues exported to Excel or BCF will have a file name formatted with the project name, BCF Version and a timestamp.
  • The structure is ACX-{Project Name}-DI-{Version}-{Time Stamp}.

Insights

What's new

Start now, download later

  • Ever need to run or export a report, but don't have time to download it?
  • You can now run PDF or Excel reports in the background, and find them in the Report History Panel when they are ready.
  • The Report History Panel is updated and shows three statuses:
    • In progress: you can click refresh at any time to see the current status. You'll also see the time the report started.
    • Completed: when complete you can download or view the report.
    • Failed: if the report failed to run or export.
  • The Report History Panel shows the last 10 reports.

Improvements and fixes

More columns to choose from

  • Two new columns are available for your custom reports.
    • Report owner is added to the Field Daily Reports subject area.
    • Field Inspections now includes the Template. This is also filterable.

We fixed some bugs

  • Firefox browser users, we fixed the bug that stopped you seeing reports when using Firefox.
  • We fixed a bug that duplicated some records in reports with workflow steps and workflow documents subject areas.
  • Two bugs caused by special characters are fixed.
    • Reports with Documents as the main subject area and Document workflow steps as the supporting subject area will now run, even when there are special characters in the document name.
    • Some reports that included workflows steps failed to run when the Select list filter contained a special character. Now special characters, excepting double quotes ("") and values starting with a hyphen, are supported.
