In the 23.02.100 release you'll find a more efficient way to set up bulk imports, faster project field processing, a new way to search punchlists, and offline storage for Models.

This release is for:
  • Document Controllers who use project fields
  • Field Admins with lots of punchlists
  • People who need models to load faster
  • Admins needing more frequent report updates.

What's new

A more efficient way to get information from Specification Manuals

  • Now you can import your Specification Manuals to generate a template with submittal items pre-loaded.
  • Choose the new Specification Reader item on the Documents menu to start.
  • Provided your file meets the requirements of the Specification Reader, it will generate a spreadsheet of submittal information.
  • You can use the specification reader for registered and unregistered documents.
  • Supports CSI Masterformat data.
  • Specification manuals should be a readable PDF for import. Scanned PDFs can't be read by the import tool.

Bulk processing for project fields

  • Project fields users, you can now use bulk processing.
  • A new metadata template has a tab for each document type to make uploading easier.
  • Single select fields now appear as a dropdown for faster, more accurate data entry.

Import more values to project fields... faster

  • Now you can add thousands of values and codes to project fields in one step.
  • This applies to Single Select and Custom Type Multi Select Project Fields only.
  • The bulk import template is available from both the Create Project Field and Edit Project Field screens.
  • If you already have project fields set up, you can choose to override those values or just add the new ones.

Cleaning up some bugs

  • We've fixed a bug that intermittently caused a time out when exporting a large number of packages.
  • If you encountered the bug when uploading large attachments to packages, we've fixed it. The fix also helps those of you on slower internet connections; giving you more time to upload attachments before the files time out.

What's new

You can do more on Mobile

  • Do you have saved searches on Aconex web? Now you can use them to access documents more easily on Mobile.
  • From mobile, you can move issues between punchlists. Simply select Move from the Select Issues screen.
  • If you need to assign a punchlist created by your organization, you can now do that on Mobile. On the Select Issues screen, choose Assign.

  • We've added a search box to the punchlists.
  • Enter the punchlist name or status to find your required punchlist.
  • No more scrolling through pages to find the one you want.

Storing models offline for faster loading

  • You asked, so we've made it faster to load models.
  • Models are now stored offline, making them faster to load after the first time.
  • Pre-load your models to see them in seconds when you need them.
  • Aconex will fully download them again if you clear your cache or change browsers.

  • You asked for more frequent dashboard updates.
  • We've reduced the time between data refreshes on most instances.
  • The last refreshed time is now in your chosen time zone. If you haven't set your preferred time zone, we'll show your organization's default time.

Making things clearer

  • On the More Details screen, we've expanded the acronym, BIC, to Ball in Court to make it clearer.

Fixing some bugs

  • On dashboards, we fixed the bug stopping you from configuring a new process when the project name has special characters. 
  • We fixed the issue where the Project field columns in the Document subject area were not displaying data in reports.
  • Deleted users and roles no longer appear in the organization report.

  • We've done some housekeeping on the user management screens.
  • You'll see a cleaner look with more intuitive icons.
  • We've also moved a couple of windows to the side, so you can see more at once.

Aconex

What's new

Helping you be more informed

  • We've added new notification messages to Aconex web to help you know the status of your tasks.
  • The new notifications currently only appear when importing project field values in bulk.
  • You'll see notifications when:
    • a new background task process has started
    • a task process is running in the background
    • a task has finished and if there were problems with the task.
  • Click on the X to close the popup notification, or it'll automatically close in a few seconds.
  • Miss a notification? Click the bell icon at the top of your screen to see any notifications.

For those with lots of projects

  • We fixed the bug: now if you have more than 1,000 Aconex projects and select a single project, your intended project will display as expected.

We'll start the release on February 16, but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle.

Features are progressively rolled out over a 30-day period, starting from the indicated release dates below. We can’t guarantee a global rollout of features across instances within the same timeframe.
