In the 23.03.100 release you'll find a self-service way to get started with Cost, a new menu in Models, extra Lobby functions, and more.

This release is for:

Improvements and fixes

It's bug fixing season

  • We fixed an error where some project field values were removed when using the bulk edit function. The fields will now appear as expected.
  • A cryptic 2 different values message appeared for some empty or blank fields on the bulk edit screen. We have removed this as it was misleading.
  • You told us that when you exported a saved search, any customized columns weren't exported. We've fixed this to export the correct columns.
  • Bulk processing wasn't working on projects that were set to read-only and then made active again. This has been fixed.
  • When creating more than 50 placeholders in a single operation, an error message appeared and stopped the process. This has now been fixed.
  • The Transmittal History by Document report was incorrectly listing the status as No Longer in Use. This is fixed and the status in the report matches the document's status in the register.

Notifications to help you work smarter

  • We've added notifications letting you know when your session is about to expire.
  • At the end of your session, you'll see a message reminding you to save your work and re-log in.

Project Fields: now in Document Properties

  • If you have project fields configured, you can see them on the Document properties tab in Viewer.
  • These are only on the Viewer page for this release but will be in list mode in Document properties in a future release.

Banishing bugs

  • A bug occurred if you had more than two dots in a file name. We've fixed the bug and these files will load in the File Comparison feature, as expected.

Fixing distribution lists

  • An error occurred when updating permissions and new admins and editors weren't added to distribution lists.
  • This has been fixed and all are added to their expected lists. 
  • We backdated this fix to all admins and editors.

Models

What's new

A new menu in Models

  • We've moved the menu items from the top main menu to a side bar within Models.
  • This means you can move from your dashboard to different areas of Models without having to refresh.

Cost

What's new

It's easier to get started with Cost

  • This feature has been delayed. You'll see it in a future release.
  • Recently, we made Cost contract management available to all organizations in Aconex.
  • Org Admins, click Cost in the menu to start the self-service guided process to get set up.
  • In five simple steps, you'll be configured and ready to use Cost.
  • We'll suggest typical settings for a quick start.
  • Use the admin settings to change user access and projects at any time.
  • If you previously had limited collaboration access, we've given you access to all contract management features. No need for you to do anything.

Improvements and fixes

Making contract collaboration clearer

  • Now it's easier to know who you're sharing your contract with.
  • We've updated the messaging to let you know what happens when you share a contract.
  • This helps prevent sharing your contract when you only need to send a copy.
  • You can also update which organization your downstream contract is connected to.
  • Contracts must be connected before being shared.

  • You can now filter columns in reports using field issues and project fields.
  • Project fields is a supporting subject area of field issues.

  • The status column in the field inspection status area is now updated to show the new statuses.
  • Now you can filter and report on inspections that are either not started, in progress, or closed.

Fixed a bug in the dashboard

  • An issue occurred preventing the More Details individual mail link from opening the mail. Now when you click the link, the mail will open as expected.

Aconex

Improvements and fixes

A new, helpful message

  • Last month we introduced status messages to Aconex web, letting you know when a task completes.
  • In this release, we've added a new message letting you know if the status message takes you to a different project. You can click to be re-directed to the different project, or stay with your current task.
  • Some notifications are clickable to download a file. For example. after importing project field values you can download a log file.
  • You can dismiss notifications for completed or failed tasks.
  • Notification messages for in-progress tasks display the percentage completed in real-time and can't be dismissed.
  • These notifications currently only appear when importing project field values in bulk.

Lobby

What's new

Now open for all organizations

  • Have you entered the Lobby yet?
  • The Lobby is a way to access all your Oracle Construction and Engineering applications, instances, and projects in one place.
  • Org Admins, you can easily onboard your users today.

Moving to a new organization?

  • This feature has been delayed to a future release.
  • Do you have a new user with a Lobby account from their previous organization? 
  • Lobby Admins, now you can change your users' home organization.
  • This is also useful to give a home to newly imported Lobby users who aren't currently linked to an organization. 

A new look for the Lobby

  • We've updated the Lobby with a new look and improved accessibility and usability.
  • The new look matches what we're introducing through the rest of Aconex.
  • With this comes a new smart filter, with shortcuts to common searches.

API

What's new

Get your saved searches

  • A new Get Saved Searches API service returns the saved searches that are stored from the Document Register’s All Filters section.
  • It returns saved search group that the saved search belongs to, and the saved search filter criteria.

Improvements and fixes

A bug fix

  • If you're using US1, the Register API has had its bug fixed. The API works with auto-numbered documents now.
  • Some of you encountered a bug that corrupted PDF files downloaded via an API. We've fixed it and you can use the API for these files again.

We'll start the release on March 8, but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle.
