  • Lobby Admins who need to move users between organizations

Documents

Improvements and fixes

Fitting more in

  • You asked, so we did it. We've increased the character limits for some fields.
  • If you can, we recommend keeping your entries shorter so they're easier to read.
  • These fields can now accept up to 150 characters:
    • ContractNumber
    • SelectList1
    • SelectList3
    • SelectList4
    • All multi-select project fields
    • All single-select project fields.

We fixed some bugs

  • Some of you told us Japanese-language characters weren't displaying correctly in the Document and Drawing Registers. This has been fixed.
  • We fixed the issue where the Issued for approval standard search wasn't working correctly. It was missing results with For Approval and Issued for Approval statuses. These now appear, as expected.
  • A bug prevented some values showing when uploading documents and setting up a large project field hierarchy. We've fixed it, so you'll now see all the fields you're meant to see.

Viewer

Improvements and fixes

No more clearing the cache in Viewer

  • Previously, we'd ask you to clear your browser cache for each Viewer update.
  • Now the browser cache will clear automatically.
  • You just need to clear your browser cache one last time with this release. You won't see any documents in Viewer until you've done this.
  • Need help clearing your browser cache? Here are the instructions for FirefoxChrome, and Edge.

Do you prefer list mode?

  • In 23.03 we added project fields to document properties.
  • Now you can view them in list mode.

Banishing bugs

  • We fixed a broken link on the Doc Properties Viewer tab. If you want more information, you can now click for it in Aconex.
  • An error appeared when uploading an updated file with a long name and special characters to a Workflow in list mode. This is fixed and your files will upload as expected.
  • In the last release we accidentally enabled the ability to edit pages for PDFs. This feature was not ready or working correctly, so we've disabled it.

Packages

Improvements and fixes

Even more for Oracle Primavera Cloud users

  • Now, you can see and do more with Oracle Primavera Cloud from within Aconex Packages.
    • Package register improvements:
      • You can use the Add/Remove Columns functions in an existing package register to add Primavera Cloud project name and activity metadata.
      • Search on more Primavera Cloud data, including project, scheduled activity, WBS name, activity status, and critical.
    • Package details schedule tab improvements:
      • Access to lots more Primavera Cloud metadata inside a package.
      • You can then configure that metadata via the new Add/Remove Metadata button, which opens a pop-up window.
    • Improvements to Exports:
      • Package export for both single package export and export packages in bulk now includes the metadata as configured in the package details schedule.
      • Package register export includes the Primavera Cloud activity metadata configured in the package register.

Models

What's new

Clash in the Cloud is here

  • Are you using Model Coordination? Now it's easier to detect clashes earlier.
  • Clash detection is automated. Set the rules for the clash detection engine and it'll check for clashes each time a model is updated.
  • Easily identify a clash, raise the design issue, and connect a request for information all within Aconex.
  • All project participants can see clash in the cloud, so everyone can be across potential issues.
  • You can turn on clash in the cloud functionality via project settings now.

Improvements and fixes

The Autodesk plugin 23.02 is here

  • You can now use the Autodesk plugin 23.02 for all your projects.
  • Log in and connect to Aconex from within the plugin–before opening a model.
  • You can now import and register your Revit files, including sheets, direct to the document register, without leaving the model.
  • Choose which data information sheets get transferred to Aconex. Then add them to the document register from within the plugin.
  • Sheets need to have been created using Revit 2022 or newer to be included.

Updating a name

  • The secured asset, Design Issues Administrator, is now Model Coordination Administrator.
  • Now the name better fits the activities this permission grants.

Cost

What's new

It's easier to get started with Cost

  • Recently, we made Cost contract management available to all organizations in Aconex.
  • Org Admins, click Cost in the menu to start the self-service guided process to get set up.
  • In five simple steps, you'll be configured and ready to use Cost.
  • We'll suggest typical settings for a quick start.
  • Use the admin settings to change user access and projects at any time.
  • If you previously had limited collaboration access, we've given you access to all contract management features. No need for you to do anything.

Insights

Improvements and fixes

  • Three new reports are available on AU2.

Adding to the User Details Assignment and Configuration report

  • This new column shows each organization's access level to a project and can have values normal, read only and archive.

Lobby

What's new

Moving to a new organization?

UPDATE: This feature has been delayed to a future release.

  • Do you have a new user with a Lobby account from their previous organization?
  • Lobby Admins, now you can change your users' home organization.
  • This is also useful to give a home to newly imported Lobby users who aren't currently linked to an organization.

API

Improvements and fixes

A bug fix

  • We fixed the bug that stopped autonumbering from working when uploading documents with project fields.
  • Thanks for letting us know the renamed VDR code Document Field was either not rendering or rendering mismatched results for Drawings and Documents. We've now fixed the API so this will render as expected.

Tasks

What's new

Tidying up

  • The help options pop-up box is now easier to read.
  • We've cut it down to a list of your Org Admins and the Aconex health status.
  • You can find all the previous links, including to Contact Us, by clicking on the help widget.
  • As always, click the question mark icon to activate the pop-up box.
