May 2023

In the 23.05.100 release you'll find default sorting in Documents, markup collaboration in parallel reviews, and an easy way to copy projects.

This release is for:
  • Project Admins who want to set the default sorting order for Documents.
  • Reviewers who want to share markups with all reviewers in a parallel step.
  • Package Admins needing to link to a package from other systems.
  • Model Coordinators who track clash trends.
  • Cost Admins who link to other resources.
  • Enterprise organizations who need an easy way to copy projects.

Documents

What's new

You choose the sort order

  • Now, in preferences, Project Admins can choose the default sort order for drawings and the document register.
  • Currently, the default is to sort by document number, but you can change this to date modified.
  • The new default will apply for all users on that project.
  • Individuals can still change the sort order during each search by clicking a column title.
  • Temporary files are sorted as follows:
    • If the document register is set to sort by Document No, temp files will sort by Candidate Doc No.
    • If the document register is sorting by Date Modified, temp files will sort by Date Uploaded.

Improvements and fixes

Fixing some bugs

  • A bug occurred when editing mail forms. The list of values was not displaying for project fields, until you clicked 'edit' on that project field from the list on the left. This has now been fixed.
  • Thank you for letting us know you couldn't generate a metadata template if your project included the document type Instructions. This happened because the templates already have an instructions sheet. We renamed the instructions for populating the template to Bulk Process Instructions so your templates will generate as expected.
  • We've fixed an error where documents with cascading metadata failed to upload and displayed an incorrect message.

Viewer

What's new

Share markups earlier

  • Now you can share your markups with parallel reviewers before submitting the document.
  • Simply publish your markups and reviewers in both the same step and parallel steps will be notified.
  • They can click the notification to import your markups and comments.
  • Previously, you had to submit the document to share markups with reviewers in parallel steps.

Snap to measure

  • Adding measurements is now easier and more accurate with a new snapping feature.
  • Using any measurement tool, click your start point and Aconex will snap to select a logical end point.
  • This makes measuring rooms, doorways and other objects easy.
  • You can activate snapping in the measurement settings window.

Improvements and fixes

Updates to bulk annotations

  • Looking for the bulk annotations button? We've changed the icon to text, and made it easier to find.
  • We've removed the words 'and stamps' from the Annotations and Stamps button because annotations already include stamps. Now it just says Annotations.
  • We fixed two bugs in bulk annotations.
    • Some markups added in bulk were incorrectly rotated depending on your page layout. This is fixed and your markups appear as they were.
    • We've fixed the bug where, occasionally, markups were displaying outside of the page boundaries. Now markups stay where you put them.

Packages

Improvements and fixes

Linking into Packages

  • It's now easier to open the package you need with external hyperlinks.
  • This helps you connect directly from your Oracle Primavera Cloud projects or external systems.
  • You can find the hyperlinks via the existing Add/Remove Columns functionality in the package register.
  • We've upgraded the Packages APIs to include external hyperlinks.

Making things easier to see

  • Have you ever had so many multi-select items that it locks the screen and is hard to see the selections?
  • We've added a scroll bar to the selection box, so it's easier to see which items are selected and it won't lock the screen.

More date search options

  • Now you have more date search options in the package register.
  • Previously you could only search for a single date.
  • This update lets you choose a pre-set period or select a custom time period.

Bug fixes

  • A bug stopped you from sending a package transmittal if you had disabled or removed users in the distribution list. We fixed this and you'll now see a message to remove those users so you can transmit the package successfully.
  • If you're using Oracle Primavera Cloud schedule activity in packages, you may have noticed some special characters weren't displaying correctly. We've fixed this so an & and other special characters display as expected.

Mobile

Improvements and fixes

Saved searches: just like on web

  • Now you can use the Mail saved searches you created on web.

Finding punchlists is easier

  • You loved the ability to search punchlists on the web; now it's available on mobile.
  • There's a new search box above your punchlists.
  • You can search on Punchlist Name and Status.

Models

What's new

Access more model tools, easier

  • We've added new buttons so you can switch between Models features easier.
  • Now you can switch from viewing a design issue to exploring a model while retaining the model context.
  • Then, from the model viewer, switch back to that design issue to action or resolve.

See trends in clash

  • New indicators show if the number of clashes is increasing or decreasing.
  • These will automatically update every second Friday and show how many clashes are in each zone and if it's higher or lower than the previous period.
  • You'll find the indicators on the clash summary page.

Improvements and fixes

A clearer view

  • We've changed the background color, so now it's the same anywhere in the model viewer.
  • You'll see the new color anywhere you're viewing models.

Cost

What's new

Manage access to the Cost menu

  • Recently, we made Cost Contract Management available to all organizations in Aconex.
  • Org Admins, click Cost in the menu to start the self-service guided process to get set up.
  • If your organization does not wish to use Cost, you can complete the guided process to hide the Cost menu from all other users. Learn more

Hyperlink your configured fields

  • A new data type, called hyperlink, is now available for both manual and calculated configured fields.
  • These make it easier to create links to external resources or systems.
  • In a manual field, your text will show in the grid as a clickable link.
  • Calculated fields can be built using a combination of data, including from manual fields.
  • Hyperlinks need to start with common prefixes, like https:// and ftp://.
  • Learn more about configured fields (and the OPEL language for calculations).

Choose your change event default settings

  • We've added two new settings to let you do ETC drawdown/Increase your way.
  • You can now choose if the ETC Drawdown and/or ETC Increase flags are on or off by default.
  • Available in both Organization and Project settings.
  • Use Organization settings to set the default for new projects. Use Project settings to set the default for new change events in the project.
  • Learn more about change events

Insights

Improvements and fixes

Changing what's in the Hosted Name User Report

  • Previously, this report included all project users, including those connected to projects archived by the owning organization.
  • Now you'll get an actual count of users on the project.
  • We'll hide any projects you've archived.
  • User accounts from the Oracle organization are also hidden.

Enhanced custom report filtering

  • Want to see all the data in a Cost report without making a new report? If you don't make a selection in a filter, we'll ignore it and present all the data, as though the filter isn't there.
  • We've added an extra option to filters with True and False options. Now you're no longer forced to restrict your list; you can choose All to see all the data.
  • If you use Mail reports, you'll be happy to know the filters are updated to support organization names with special characters.

Opening up access

  • We've removed the requirement for an organization or project needing access to the change event subject area to create printable reports.

We squished some bugs

  • We changed how document reports are run, removing the bug causing large reports to sometimes fail.
  • A bug revealed some extra, non-working, filter operators in the report model editor. These are now hidden again so they can't be accidentally selected.
  • In the document workflow reports, special characters used in a certain order could make the report fail. We've fixed this and your report names can have any assortment of special characters.
  • The bug that didn't format dates correctly in the mail project field has been eliminated.
  • A bug in the User Detail and Assignment report decided if someone was a Project Admin in one project, they are in all their projects. This has been fixed and we now report the Project Admins correctly.
