May 2024

In the 24.05.100 release, you'll find user interface updates for packages, a faster way to print QR codes, improvements for cost admins, and lots of additions for the new model explore.

This release is for:
  • Package Admins who search and update documents.
  • Field Admins who want to print QR codes for all their areas.
  • Model Coordinators using the new model explore.
  • Org Admins who want to create new users faster.
  • Lobby Admins who asked to see more details about their users.

Documents

Improvements and fixes

Keep track of your bulk processing jobs

  • Sometimes bulk processing jobs become stuck with the Queued status. We've added a new status of Pre-processing so you can see your job is progressing.
  • Bulk processing jobs will now move through the following statuses: Draft -> Queued -> Pre Processing -> In Progress -> Completed

We fixed these bugs

  • Sometimes, when updating documents with cascading metadata applied to them, you saw a message "There are still some unmodified documents". This has been fixed so you can continue with the update as expected.
  • We fixed an error that prevented the packages column from populating when exporting a report from the document register.

Packages

What's new

A new look for viewing documents and updates

  • We've improved the appearance of the Documents screen so it's easier to find the information you need.

Improvements and fixes

We fixed a bug

  • You let us know that packages would sometimes show as not up-to-date, even if they were. This has been fixed.

Field

What's new

Improvements to QR code printing

Print QR codes faster for all your areas and sub-areas. When you select an area to print QR codes, you'll see two options:

  • Print the selected area and next level below - This downloads a PDF with QR Codes for the selected area and the immediate level below (this is the current behavior).
  • Print the selected area and all levels below - This downloads a PDF with QR Codes for the selected area and ALL sub-areas under the selected area. When the file is ready for download, it can be found in Temporary Files.

Models

Improvements and fixes

Do more with New Model Explore

We've added more features you know and love into the new Model Explore.

  • Create and manage viewpoints for a single model or federated collection of models, so you or others can quickly access them.
  • Measurements are now captured as part of any viewpoint or process.
  • Link a mail process to specific models or objects.
  • Add 3D markups onto models and include them in a process such as a design issue, mail, or viewpoint.

It's easier to examine clashes

  • A new visual styling tool in the model viewer helps you focus on clashing objects when viewing clash results.

Cost

Improvements and fixes

Making things easier for Cost Admins

  • Get timely updates. You'll now receive an in-app notification when an import has succeeded or failed.
  • We've removed a barrier for your integrations. You no longer need separate Import/Export permission to integrate with Cost.
  • After searching in Cost, we'll now clear the previous search entry, so you can quickly run another search.
  • Now, if you tick Finished on a rule in the Rules of Credit area, the percent complete automatically updates to 100%.
  • If your project uses Contract Management rather than the full version of Cost, you can now link mail to existing contract changes. Previously an error appeared when trying to do this.
  • The Transfer Control Account field on the Change Event Items grid now includes the Code so you have more details at a glance.

Improved messaging when deleting records

We've updated messaging to help you find and update related records when deleting a control element category that is referenced by a:

  • Budget change item.
  • Markup item (Apply percent to).
  • Change event markup item (after deleting the control element).
  • Contract (after deleting the control element).

Setup

What's new

Create new users in one step

  • Org Admins, we've saved you some time. Now you can create both a Lobby account and linked Aconex account(s) in one go.
  • You'll need a Lobby account yourself to use this new flow.
  • The menu item to create users has not moved - you'll continue to create users from the Setup menu.
  • All required Aconex user accounts are created and linked to the new Lobby account in the one process.
  • Note: If the new user already has a Lobby account, then new Aconex accounts must be separately linked as before. The user can link the new Aconex account(s) to their Lobby account, or you can link it for them using the migration tool.

Lobby

Improvements and fixes

View more user details

  • Lobby admins can now click on a user's name to see which Aconex accounts are linked to their Lobby account.
  • When a user's login name is changed in Aconex, the updated login name is now visible in the Lobby.

API

Improvements and fixes

Updating large files

More user details

We'll start the release on May 15 but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle.

All instances. US2 will be updated after its change freeze period ends.

Release schedule

We take a staggered approach when rolling out features and improvements to each instance. This means that on the release date, you may not see all updates immediately. Features are progressively rolled out over a 30-day period, starting from the indicated release dates below. We can’t guarantee a global rollout of features across instances within the same timeframe. Features that are not available on all instances are listed here. This information is accurate at the time of publishing and is subject to change without notice.
