June 2024

In the 24.06.100 release, you'll find more details in your package documents, and Lobby admins get more control over linked accounts.

This release is for:
  • Model Coordinators using the new model explore.
  • Package admins who view package documents.
  • Lobby admins who need to manage linked accounts for their users.

Aconex

What's new

Aconex login is changing

  • From June, when you log in to Aconex with an Aconex username and password, you will be prompted to create a Lobby account.  If you proceed, you will be guided through the process of creating a new account. Learn more about the guided process.
  • We're gradually rolling this out to each Aconex instance over the next few months. This means some users will see the changes at the beginning of the rollout, while others will see them later.
  • Remember once you have a Lobby account, you can continue to log into the Aconex instance directly as you normally would, using your email address and Lobby account password.
  • If you want to, you can sign in to the Lobby. Use the Lobby if you are an Organization Administrator or you have multiple Aconex accounts, as the Lobby lets you see all your accounts, projects, and applications in one place.
  • This applies to Aconex commercial instances - ASIA1, ASIA2, AU1, CA1, EU1, KSA1, MEA, UK1, US1. It does not apply to AU2 or US2.

Documents

Improvements and fixes

We fixed these bugs

  • The document preview feature decided not to load documents with uppercase file extensions. We've fixed this so you can preview any supported documents.
  • The Transmittal History Report by Organisation now includes documents updated by APIs. Previously these were not shown.
  • Bulk processing now treats project fields and document fields the same way. If any of these fields are left blank, the existing information is carried forward into the new version.
  • Some of you had trouble saving your upload profiles after entering project fields. This is now fixed.

Packages

Improvements and fixes

See project field information in documents

  • Thanks to your feedback you can now see project fields when viewing documents added to your packages.
  • Previously only document fields were visible.
  • The project fields are also visible in edit mode and exported reports.

Models

What's new

A new way to explore your models

  • A new experience for Model Explore is now available for all projects.
  • Get ready for a cleaner, modern interface to help you view your models faster.
  • To access the new version, click the new Model Explore icon from the Models side menu.
  • We previously enabled this for Model Coordination projects only and have now made it available to all projects.
  • We're continuing to add features to new Model Explore. You can switch back to the classic Explore for now but it will be retired soon, so we recommend you try out the new features today.

Improvements and fixes

Do more with New Model Explore

We've added more features you know and love into the new Model Explore.

  • Share a Document Register model (previously named Distribute model).
  • Remove models from the models list.

3D markups for clashes

  • Now you can markup a model when inspecting clash results in the viewer.

Insights

Improvements and fixes

We fixed these bugs

  • Some project reports were not displaying project names containing special characters. This has been fixed.
  • We've improved the way reports handle invalid characters to reduce the chance of your report failing to load.
  • We've fixed the error that prevented some of you from editing or deleting your reports.

Lobby

What's new

More control over your users linked accounts

  • Lobby admins can now unlink Aconex accounts for users in their organizations. Click a user's name to see linked Aconex accounts, and choose one to unlink.
  • Lobby admins can now link an Aconex account to multiple Lobby accounts. You'll find this option on the user list under More Actions

Improvements and fixes

Finding your organization's region

  • Thanks to your feedback you can now see which Aconex instance an organization belongs to.
  • You'll find the Organization Region column when viewing your list of organizations and users. This new column replaces the previous Location column.
  • This is helpful if your organization is registered on multiple Aconex instances with the same name and address.

API

Improvements and fixes

Changes to user-bound integrations

  • The user-bound integration option now requires customers to specify a single Lobby account that is bound to the integration.
  • Customers can link one or more Aconex accounts to this Lobby account, as required.
  • Existing user-bound integrations bound to Aconex accounts will be supported until further notice.

We'll start the release on June 19 but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle.

All instances. US2 will be updated after its change freeze period ends.

Release schedule

We take a staggered approach when rolling out features and improvements to each instance. This means that on the release date, you may not see all updates immediately. Features are progressively rolled out over a 30-day period, starting from the indicated release dates below. We can’t guarantee a global rollout of features across instances within the same timeframe. Features that are not available on all instances are listed here. This information is accurate at the time of publishing and is subject to change without notice.
