In the July 2024 release it's easier to access the mobile app with your Lobby account, the new Model Explore gets a bunch of features and there's improvements for Cost, Insights, and Lobby. 

This release is for:
  • All Mobile users
  • Model Coordinators using the new Model Explore.
  • Anyone who runs lots of mail reports.

Improvements and fixes

We fixed these bugs

  • We updated links to Support Central in the Project Field Hierarchy screen.
  • When viewing the Auto Update Transmitted Documents report, some documents appeared as outdated even though they had previously been sent. This has been fixed so they now correctly show as being sent.
  • We removed that pesky debug error that occurred for some saved searches.
  • Now if you leave a project field value blank while updating documents in Bulk Processing, any existing values will come across to the new version of the documents. This matches the existing behavior of document fields.

What's new

It's easier to sign in with your new Lobby account

  • With all users soon required to access Aconex with a Lobby account, we've updated the mobile app login screen so there's less steps to sign in.
  • Tap the new Sign In button and enter your Lobby account email address and password. Previously you had to tap Log in with Construction and Engineering.
  • If you don't have a Lobby account yet and need to use your Aconex login name, tap Show other sign in methods. Then tap Sign in with Aconex username and password. Note: You'll see a dropdown here to select other Lobby instances, but this doesn't do anything just yet. 
  • Remember all users will need to use a Lobby account to access Aconex from August 2024. Learn more

  • See the model in the Document Register from models list.
  • View administrator details for Document Register models.
  • Model placement settings. UPDATE: Moved to a future release.
  • Viewer preferences, which now includes the Field of View tool. UPDATE: Moved to a future release.

Making things easier for Cost Admins

  • We've saved you some time. Projects load even faster in Cost.
  • There's a new setting to decide if users invited to the project are automatically enabled for Cost, or not.
  • Contract items can now be sorted numerically.

Faster reporting

  • Find that report even quicker! We've optimized the list of standard reports so it loads faster.
  • Get your Mail Response, Mail Thread and Mail Days Late reports even faster. We've added the Response mail sent date filter to these reports to help you reduce the amount of data being requested.

Switch users and see your data

  • Now if you switch to another Aconex account you'll see the correct data for that account. Previously you'd only see data for the account you originally logged into.

Session expiry notifications

  • You'll now see a message if you're about to be logged out of the Lobby after eight hours of inactivity.
  • The message appears two minutes before you are logged out. Click Continue to stay logged in.
  • If you are logged out, another message will provide a Sign In button to get back in.
  • If your organization manages user accounts with an Identity Domain, the session expiry may be different.

API

Get project owner details via API

  • API integrations can now get the Project Owner Organization Name and Project Owner Organization Trading Name in the List Projects for User API response.
  • You no longer need to make a separate API call to get this information.

Improvements to the All Filters List Documents API

  • The All Filters List Documents API was failing for some users due to large amounts of data being returned.
  • We've added the returnTransmittalInfo request attribute to help this API perform faster.
  • With this boolean value is set to True, the response only contains documents that have a transmittal history. It will not contain any extra data type metadata which was generating a large response.

We'll start the release on July 10 but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle.

All instances. US2 will be updated after its change freeze period ends.

We take a staggered approach when rolling out features and improvements to each instance. This means that on the release date, you may not see all updates immediately. Features are progressively rolled out over a 30-day period, starting from the indicated release dates below. We can’t guarantee a global rollout of features across instances within the same timeframe. Features that are not available on all instances are listed here.
