September 2024

In the September 2024 release you'll find more features in the new Model Explore, a new report to manage mailing groups, and an easy way to copy permissions to projects.

This release is for:
  • Model Coordinators using the new Model Explore.
  • Org Admins who manage mailing groups.
  • Organizations who manage permissions at the project level.
  • Report schedulers.

Documents

Improvements and fixes

We fixed these bugs

  • For some of you, when updating documents in the new upload, the values on multi-select lists would disappear. This has been fixed so your selected values stay put.
  • We've improved file content search so you can find words that contain hyphens within your files.

Models

What's new

There's more to explore

We've added more features you know and love into new Model Explore.

  • Field of View (FOV) under the Set Perspective menu on the toolbar.
  • Open a design issue directly from the design issue viewer.  Plus, you can easily click  back to the issue you came from.
  • Upload models from your computer (local files), if your project has local files enabled. By default, a local file will not be shared with everyone on the project, but you can change this.
  • Click the cog icon to open viewer preferences, such as system resources.

Improvements and fixes

We fixed these bugs

  • We've enhanced the integration with P6 so there's less change of it failing.
  • You can now use a null date in configured calculated fields if you don't want to enter a value for it.

Insights

What's new

Manage your mailing groups

  • Org Admins have a new report to help you manage your organization's mailing groups.
  • The report shows you which users have been added to each group, across all projects your organization is invited to.
  • You'll find the new Distribution Group Members Report in your organization reports. It's available to all Org Admins and users who have the permission asset Download Distribution Group Member Report.

Improvements and fixes

Pausing scheduled reports

  • If you've scheduled a report that was shared with you, and the report owner stops sharing it with you, the schedule will be paused.
  • You'll receive a notification that the schedule was paused.
  • If you get access to the report again, you can edit and save the schedule to get it running once again.

Statuses for report schedules

  • We've added a status to your scheduled reports, so it's easier to manage them.
  • An Active schedule is one that's currently running.
  • An Inactive schedule has passed its end date.
  • A report that you scheduled but is no longer shared with you will have the Paused status.

Reporting enhancements

  • If you switch to another user account and view reports, you'll now see the correct reports for the account you switched to. To support this, these reports will download in a new browser tab.
  • To improve performance, the Workflow Document – Insights standard report now only displays In Progress workflows by default. If you need to, you can change the filter values to include more statuses.
  • We've improved the document transmittal report to support projects with large amounts of transmittals.

Setup

What's new

Copy user roles to other projects

  • Great news for Org Admins who manage permissions at the project level. You can now copy users roles to one or more projects.
  • This is a big time saver for organizations who need to consistently manage permissions across their projects.
  • Available to all users who have permission to configure user roles.

Improvements and fixes

A default home organization for new users

  • Now when you create a new user, their home organization will default to your home organization, saving you a click.
  • You can choose a different home organization if available.

Lobby

Improvements and fixes

Making things clearer

  • The main title of the screen has been renamed from Construction and Engineering to Construction and Engineering Lobby.
  • The Get Latest Data button has been renamed to Refresh.

API

Improvements and fixes

Workflows API now returns delegated steps

  • Using updated_after in your API request was not returning workflow steps that were delegated. We've fixed this so all steps are included. Note: This fix only applies to workflow steps that are delegated after this release.

We'll start the release on September 11 but it depends on what instance your project is on. Some updates will be released later in the 30-day release cycle.

All instances except US2.

Release schedule

We take a staggered approach when rolling out features and improvements to each instance. This means that on the release date, you may not see all updates immediately. Features are progressively rolled out over a 30-day period, starting from the indicated release dates below. We can’t guarantee a global rollout of features across instances within the same timeframe. Features that are not available on all instances are listed here. This information is accurate at the time of publishing and is subject to change without notice.
