Support Central

What's new

Support Central is getting an upgrade

  • We're pleased to announce that Support Central (that's the site you're viewing now), is migrating to a new platform on 24 June 2025.
  • For you, this means an upgraded search experience, resulting in more accurate results and filtering options, plus updated URLs which are easier to read and share.
  • The main URL is not changing and remains accessible from help.aconex.com
  • Most page URLs will change so we encourage you to update your bookmarks to ensure a better user experience. In the meantime we have redirects in place so any old URLs will automatically redirect to the new one.
  • At this stage, Release Notes Presenter will not be available, however monthly Release Notes will be available and published as normal. We plan to roll out the new version of Release Notes Presenter in the coming months.
  • We continue to provide updated content and helpful information on Support Central, including a range of articles, videos and learning paths. You can also provide feedback to us by clicking the Thumbs Up / Down icons at the bottom of every page.

Documents

What's new

Split a PDF into separate documents

  • Does your PDF have multiple pages that need to be registered as separate documents?
  • Now you can upload your PDF and we'll split each page as a new file in your temporary files area, ready to be registered as separate documents.
  • This saves you time from using external tools to manually extract each page.
  • This new feature is available to all users from the documents menu. Learn more
  • You can split PDFs that contain up to 200 pages, and up to 200MB in size.

Improvements and fixes

Temporary rollback of export to XLSX

  • In a previous release we updated the Export to Excel option in Aconex to use XLSX files. This increased the amount of data you can export to 100K rows.
  • We've temporarily rolled back this feature on the AU1, KSA1, MEA, and US1 instances of Aconex to address an unexpected behavior.
  • Subscribe to release notes and we'll let you know once it's available.

Mail

What's new

Add or remove a user from multiple mailing groups

  • Many of you let us know the time consuming process of adding or removing users from multiple mailing groups, one click at a time. We've made this process easier.
  • Now you can add or remove a user from all mailing groups on a project in one go.  No more clicking through each mailing group!
  • You'll need to have the Bulk Edit Mailing Groups of User permission granted to your user role to perform this action.
  • Keep in mind that changes to mailing groups only apply to your currently selected project.

Workflows

Improvements and fixes

Filtering for documents

  • If you've filtered the workflow search screen, and click to review a document, your filters will now remain in place, so you only see the documents that you filtered.
  • Previously, all documents in the workflow would show, regardless of your chosen filters.

Field

What's new

Retiring Classic Issues

  • You may recall that we launched a new, improved view when logging and managing Issues in Aconex Field.
  • You currently have the option to use classic view, or the new view.
  • We'll be retiring the classic Issues view by end August 2025. After this date, you will only be able to use the new view.
  • We're providing early notice so you can switch to the new view today and get familiar with the new look and feel.

Models

What's new

Model Coordination for all users

  • Great news! This month, all Model Coordination features such as measurements, markups, issues, and clash detection are available to all users on all projects.
  • You'll see the new features when you view your models after this release. If you haven't used Model Coordination before, you'll be asked to take a quick tour of the available features.
  • If you're already using Model Coordination on your project, there is no impact to you. You can continue using those features.
  • Learn more about Model Coordination features

Improvements and fixes

Saving you time in Models

  • If you open the viewpoint list and navigate away from Models, when you return, the viewpoint list will remain open for you to continue your work.
  • Models now load faster if you open them from the viewpoint list.
  • We've also improved responsiveness when interacting with your models, particularly if it has lots of objects.

Cost

Improvements and fixes

Choosing dates for your P6 integration

More fields to calculate formulas

  • Shared configured manual fields can now be used to calculate values in configured calculated fields.

Setup

What's new

Manage modules on your project

  • Project Admins can now decide which features are available to use on their projects.
  • The new Module Management screen in your project's settings lets you turn off modules (such as Tenders, Field and Packages) that are not required for a particular project.
  • You'll need to have the Manage Modules permission granted to your user role to perform this action.
  • Some key modules (such as Tasks, Documents, Mail) cannot be turned off and you cannot turn off a module that has already been used by any organization on the project.
  • If you copy a project, the copied project will include the modules you turned off on the source project.

Note: This feature is planned for release in July 2025.

Improvements and fixes

See the long name of a project when creating users

  • When creating a new user account, you can now see the long name of the project, so it's easy to compare projects with similar short names.
  • You'll need to add this new column from the column selector.
  • This ensures you add the user to the correct project.

Increasing project information attachments

  • We've increased the limit of project information attachments to 20 files.
  • These attachments are visible to everyone on the project from the home screen and handy to share important guidelines.

Lobby

What's new

Linking accounts faster

  • We've reduced the number of steps required to link an Aconex account
  • You'll now be prompted to enter the credentials of the Aconex account on a single screen, so you can link in less clicks.

API

Improvements and fixes

Clearer error messages for OAuth

  • You let us know that some of the error messages received when implementing OAuth were not quite clear.
  • We've updated these to help you identify and resolve the problem.

We'll gradually release these updates from June 21.

All instances except US2.
