October 2025

This month you'll find a faster way to align your models, view summary issues at a glance in Field, more details in package exports, and an easier way to update document field labels.

This release is for:
  • Model coordinators who want to save some time aligning models.
  • Those who asked for the issues summary in Field.
  • Package admins who need to keep track of reviews.
  • Project owning organizations who need to update document field labels.
  • Admins who want to check mailing groups for a user.
  • Those who need to quickly create a business process in Oracle Primavera Unifier.
  • Project Admins who want to turn on/off features on their project.

Models

What's new

Align your models faster

  • If you work with lots of models you'll love this update.
  • The new alignment assistant allows you to quickly align all your models into the right place in the viewer.
  • Simply select two anchor points for each model and watch as the models shift into place.
  • This takes away the guesswork when trying to manually align your models, saving you time and reducing errors.
  • For clarity, we've also updated the name of the Model Placement tool to Model Alignment. You can continue to make manual adjustments using existing functionality as required. Learn more

Improvements and fixes

A better view in Models

  • Measurements now snap to grid lines and grid intersections to help you place them easily.
  • We've improved orthogonal mode so that objects remain in view as you zoom. Previously, some objects were being clipped in this view. Note that viewpoints created with the orthogonal mode may need to be updated as the snapshot image will not match the viewer.

Field

What's new

Bringing back your issues summary

  • Thanks to your feedback, we've given you back summary details in your issues list.
  • Click the new Summary option in the menu to see the overall status of your issues at a glance.

Export more inspections

  • You can now export inspections to CSV.
  • This allows you to export large data sets as CSV has no limits on the number of rows.

Improvements and fixes

Clarifying menu options

  • We've relabeled some menu items on the issues screen to make them clearer.
  • These options have also been moved under a three dots menu to keep the main toolbar free from clutter:
    • Send has been renamed to Send on Mail.
    • Move has been renamed to Move to Punchlist.
    • Remove has been renamed to Remove from Punchlist.
  • The Export option on the menu is also now enabled by default and will export all issues if you haven't made a selection.

Clarifying issue filters

  • Thanks for letting us know some issue filter options were unclear. We've renamed these to help you understand what they do.
  • Status changed on has been renamed to Status of your issues changed on.
  • Assigned On has been renamed to Assigned to you or your org on.

More details in issue exports

  • You’ll see the following fields when you export issues to Excel or CSV:
    • Pinned to Doc Number: The document number of the drawing that the issue is pinned to.
    • Doc Title: The title of the drawing that the issue is pinned to.
    • Source: The inspection or punchlist where the issue was created.
    • Listed In: The punchlist where the issue is listed.
  • These new fields are available on web and mobile. Some fields have been reordered in the exported file to make room for the new fields.

Documents

What's new

Update your document field labels

  • Project owning organizations can now update the labels and tooltips for document fields, including their translations.
  • This allows you to quickly make a document field available for use on the project with its correct label.
  • You'll need to have the Re-label Document Fields permission granted to your user role to perform this action. This ensures you can limit who can unlock the document field labels and update them. This permission is granted to Org Admins by default.
  • You no longer need to contact Oracle Support to request this, saving you time and errors.

Important: Document uploads are blocked while document fields are unlocked for editing. Make sure you update them at a suitable time and remember to lock the fields after you're done.

Packages

What's new

More details in package exports

  • In a previous release we added new columns to help you see the status of your package reviews.
  • After adding these columns, they'll now be included when you export the details.
  • Also if you've added the Documents column it will now show in the export, so you can see the number of documents in each package.

Improvements and fixes

A new look for package properties

  • We've updated the fonts and alignment of the Package Properties screen.
  • This makes it consistent with other screens across the platform allowing for an intuitive and seamless experience.

Directory

What's new

View a users mailing groups

  • You can now quickly see all mailing groups a user has been added to for the current project.
  • Click on the user's name from the project directory, and see their mailing groups listed in alphabetical order at the bottom of the page.
  • This helps you check your users are in the correct groups, particularly if you want a new user to be in the same mailing groups as another user.
  • You'll need to have the Show Mailing Groups on User Page permission granted to your user role, available at the org and project level.

Mail

What's new

Create a business process in Unifier

UPDATE: This feature has been delayed. We'll include it in a future release.

If you manage your project in both Aconex and Primavera Unifier, we've saved you some time.

Note: This feature is currently only available to projects on the KSA1 instance. We'll continue to develop the feature based on feedback and announce availability for other Aconex instances at a later date.

  • Sometimes correspondence in Aconex requires a business process, such as a Change Request to be created in Unifier.
  • To save time and reduce errors, you can now start the business process automatically from an Aconex mail, including all details and attachments.
  • You can start a business process from any mail that your organization has sent or received.
  • You'll need to have the Start Unifier Business Process permission granted to your user role to perform this action.
  • Your project in Aconex and Unifier (Multi-tenant) must be linked in the Lobby.

Setup

What's new

Manage modules on your project

  • Project Admins can now decide which features are available to use on their projects.
  • The new Module Management screen in your project's settings lets you turn off modules (such as Tenders, Field and Packages) that are not required for a particular project.
  • You'll need to have the Manage Modules permission granted to your user role to perform this action.
  • Some key modules (such as Tasks, Documents, Mail) cannot be turned off and you cannot turn off a module that has already been used by any organization on the project.
  • If you copy a project, the copied project will include the modules you turned off on the source project.

Document Processes

Improvements and fixes

More details in your document process reviews

Note: Document Processes is currently only available to projects on the KSA1 and MEA instances. We'll continue to develop features based on feedback and announce availability for other Aconex instances at a later date.

  • When viewing the list of issues on a review step, you can now see which organization raised each issue.
  • When viewing a document from the deliverables or issues list you'll now only see issue pins and markups for the current review only. This helps you see what has been raised on the current version of the document.
  • The Process initiator now receives a transmittal when QA is accepted and the review is started.  This allows the initiating organization to see the current review status in their document register.

Cost

Improvements and fixes

Improvements in Cost

  • After this release, if you attach files or documents to contract changes and payment applications, you'll see the file size displayed in the attachments grid.
  • We've removed the character limit in the transfer notes field in budget transfers, so you can enter as many notes as you need.
  • We've fixed an issue where some approved budget transfers were not consistently reflected in the control account of the cost worksheet. This now syncs correctly.

Viewer

Improvements and fixes

Restoring lead reviewer behaviour

  • We recently introduced a change to prevent dynamic stamps from being deleted by the lead reviewer. Unfortunately this change missed the release notes. However, based on feedback we've decided to roll back this change to the previous behavior, allowing any stamps to be deleted by the lead reviewer.

Lobby

Improvements and fixes

Removing last sign in

  • In a previous release we introduced the Last Sign-In column to the user list. Unfortunately we've had to remove this as it was not behaving as expected.
  • If you need to, you can find last logon to Aconex for your users from the User Details, Assignment & Configuration organization report.

API

Improvements and fixes

More data in Cost

  • We've updated the Cost API documentation to include examples for internal and shared configured fields and tag categories.
  • File size for attachments in contract changes and payment applications can now also be requested from the API.

We'll gradually release each update over a 30-day period starting October 18.

Some updates only apply to projects on the KSA1 and MEA instances as indicated. All other updates will be made available to all instances.
