How to install an additional Digital Media Archive

Need to install more than one Digital Media Archive? No problem.

Tip!

You don't need to re-install or upgrade the Project Archive Viewer unless you're running an older version. If your Viewer's up to date, you'll only need to install the data store.

  1. Stop the Archive Viewer Service. See our information on managing the Archive Viewer Service if you're not sure how to do this.
  2. In Windows Explorer, browse to the Project Archive folder containing the archive you want to install.
  3. Double-click on Project Archive Installer for Windows.bat.
  1. A confirmation message appears. Click the Yes button.
  1. The installation wizard starts. Click the Next button to continue.
  1. Read the license agreement, and, if you accept the terms, select the I accept the terms of this license agreement radio button.  
  2. Click the Next button.

You're asked if you want to install the Project Archive Viewer. The version of the Viewer that will be installed is displayed in the title bar of the installation wizard.

  1. If you already have the current version installed on your computer, click the Upgrade Project Archive Application checkbox to deselect it.
  2. Click Next.
  1. If you need to install the Viewer, leave the Upgrade Project Archive Application checkbox selected, and click Next. 
  2. A confirmation message appears. Click Yes to confirm it.  
  3. Choose the archive data location as follows:

Leave archive data on the external diskSelect the Leave archive data on the external disk radio button.
Install archive data to a different location
  • accept the default location, or
  • choose a different location as follows:
    • Click the Browse button.
    • Select the location where you want to install Project Archive.
    • Click the Open button.
  1. Click the Next button.
  1. The Installation Status screen displays.
  2. When the status reaches 100%, click the Next button.
  1. If you don’t want to start the Project Archive Viewer now, deselect the Launch Archive Viewer checkbox.  
  2. Click the Done button. The archive you added is now available for viewing.
