Documents

What's new

Coming soon – Use Renditions to manage multiple file formats

  • Renditions allows you to attach secondary files to a document, keeping different file formats together in a single record.
  • For example, a drawing can have a PDF as the primary file for review, with the native CAD file attached as a secondary file.
  • This saves you time from having to register your native files as separate documents, making them easier to find and manage.
  • If your project uses API integrations, review and update them before enabling Renditions. Existing integrations may not support secondary files and could fail or behave unexpectedly if they are not updated.
  • Renditions will be available in August. We’re sharing this advance notice, so you have time to prepare your teams for the upcoming changes. Read the key considerations to ensure it suits your project processes and integrations.

Improvements and fixes

Clearer edits and faster field entry

  • Thanks to your feedback, we've made improvements to the new enhanced upload.
  • In the Bulk Edit screen, all mandatory fields now display a Required label instead of a red box, which was confusing for some users. We've also added new Apply and Cancel buttons to provide clear actions for proceeding with the edit.
  • Date selectors have a new Today button so you can quickly select the current date. If you choose an incorrect date, you can now select it and delete it to try again.
  • Select list values are now more visible, without requiring you to scroll to view them.

Mobile

What's new

Your new look mobile home screen

  • We've refreshed the mobile home screen so you can see your tasks and access modules from one place.
  • Your tasks are visible right away – you no longer need to tap the separate tasks tab to see them.
  • Swipe across the module tiles to access your project information.

Add markups faster

  • After attaching a photo or file to an issue, you'll find a new markup option next to each one.
  • You can add markup to newly attached photos and files before they sync. After syncing, markup is available for photos but not for other file types.

Capture multiple issue photos

  • When collecting evidence for an issue, you can take up to 15 photos in a single camera session.
  • Tap a thumbnail to review an image and retake it if required.
  • The total number of photos taken is displayed in brackets.

Home

What's new

Tidying old tasks

  • We're optimizing the home screen to prepare for new features arriving later this year.
  • To do this, we'll no longer display tasks that were created over two years ago. The data itself will not change - it just won't be visible on your home screen. You can continue to access your older tasks directly from the appropriate module. For example, all overdue mail can still be found in your Inbox.
  • We'll begin the optimization process in August 2026. This applies to both the web and mobile app.

Field

What's new

Export test plans to PDF

  • Create a handover-ready PDF that captures test plan progress with evidence.
  • You can export up to 10 test plans as separate PDFs to share with your stakeholders.
  • The PDF includes test plan details, an activity summary, activity metadata, reference documents, records, reviewer actions, and appendices for supporting evidence.
  • Choose to include photos, files, inspections, linked issues, and reference document metadata. Your selection is remembered until you next log in.

A new look for test plans

  • We've refreshed the test plan details screen to make it cleaner and easier to scan.
  • Reviewer details are now collapsed by default, so each activity fits neatly on a single line. Expand the row to view all reviewer details.
  • A new Records column helps you see how many inspections, attachments and comments have been added to each activity. Click the indicators to view the records.
  • Less frequently used columns have been removed from the main view, giving you more room to focus on your activities. Acceptance criteria, method, and frequency are just a click away when you open an activity.

Add subcontractors for Observations

  • Inspector Admins can now add subcontractors directly in the web app using a form or importing them from Excel.
  • Previously, subcontractors could only be added through the API.
  • This makes it easier to create and manage your Observations subcontractor list.

Improvements and fixes

Send enhanced issue reports

  • We've updated the layout of PDF reports sent by mail for both issues and punchlists.
  • With a visual refresh, the report now aligns with all the details you see on screen, making it easier to read.
  • Image metadata is also included so you have context for each image.

Clearer notification settings

  • We've reorganized notification settings into two tabs.
  • Under the Daily Summary tab, you'll find settings for issues and inspections.
  • The Notifications tab contains your settings for test plans.
  • Your existing preferences remain unchanged and are shown with new toggle controls.

Sort overdue issues first

  • We've added a new sorting option so you can find overdue issues first.

Packages

What's new

A new look for package mail

  • Package mail has a refreshed look to make tabs clearer and help you find mail fast.
  • The Inbox and Sent tabs have been combined into a new Linked Mails tab. You can filter the mail shown here between Inbox, Sent or All.
  • The Transmitted tab has been renamed to Transmitted with Package.
  • You can sort by any column by clicking on its title.

Add more documents to a package

  • Select up to 3000 documents and add them to up to 10 packages in one go. Previously you could add a maximum of 50 documents.
  • This helps you prepare larger packages faster.

Improvements and fixes

Find packages by date

  • New search and filter options help you find packages by the date they were created, modified, closed, or transmitted.

A new look for package settings

  • Package settings has a cleaner, refreshed design so it's easier to configure packages and add project fields.

Workflows

What's new

Remove supplementary files

  • Thanks to your feedback, you can now remove supplementary files that you've added in error, before submitting your review.

Setup

What's new

Request to delete any project

  • Project-owning organizations can now request to delete any project from the List My Projects screen, even if other organizations have participated in them.
  • Project Deletion Notice mail is sent to all users participating in the project (including archived organizations), so they have an opportunity to cancel the request.
  • While deletion is pending, no one can be invited to the project and access levels for all organizations cannot be changed.
  • A banner is displayed on the project for all users with a clickable link to cancel the process. If clicked, the deletion will be cancelled and a mail sent to the project owner to advise who cancelled the process.
  • The project will be deleted after 30 days, unless a request to cancel is received from any user.

Lobby

Improvements and fixes

Refresh your Lobby Admin status

  • If you’ve recently become an Org Admin but don’t yet have Lobby Admin rights, you can now update your access with a single click.
  • Use the Refresh button on the Linked Accounts screen to sync your admin status. If you’re an Org Admin, Lobby Admin rights will be granted automatically after the refresh.
  • You no longer need to unlink and relink your account to update your admin status.

Set your preferred language

  • You can now choose your preferred language for the Lobby. Some email notifications will also be sent in your chosen language.
  • If you don’t choose a language, Lobby will continue to use your browser settings, and email notifications will remain in English.
  • When creating new users, Org Admins can also set each user’s preferred language.

Tenders

Improvements and fixes

Email notifications for Observers

  • Observers now receive an email notification when tender invitations they are observing have an update.
  • This ensures they are kept up to date on the bid progress.
  • Notifications are sent for tender creation, addenda, RFIs, submissions, and declines.

Document Processes

Improvements and fixes

Expand the matrix

  • You can now create up to 1000 rules in the Review Matrix. Previously the limit was 500 rules.
  • We've increased the number of review columns from 50 to 200, allowing you to add more reviewer groups.

Understand a field's source

  • When searching in Document Processes, you'll often see a mix of fields from different sources. We've made it easier to see which module or source each field belongs to.
  • For example, the source name Documents will now appear above Document Number, and Reviews will appear above Current Status.
  • These new labels are visible in column headings, filters, and the column selector.
  • This helps you identify where a field comes from and avoids confusion between similarly named fields.

Mail

Improvements and fixes

A modern look for email notifications

  • We've updated the fonts and colors for email notifications (when your preference is set to notification only), making them easier to read and action.

Send to a shared mailing group

  • We fixed an issue that prevented some mail fields from recognizing shared mailing group names.

API

What's new

Reminder – Ensure your API integrations support 64-bit records

  • In August, we'll upgrade Aconex database fields to 64-bit across all Aconex instances. If your organization integrates with Aconex APIs, you'll need to review your integrations and ensure they support 64-bit data types.
  • The EA1 instance has now been upgraded to 64-bit and is ready for integration testing. Learn how to review your API integrations.

Improvements and fixes

Manage OAuth public certificates

  • You can now upload and manage your own public certificates for OAuth clients used in Non-Interactive Integrations.
  • When creating a new OAuth client, upload your public certificate as part of the setup. For existing Non-Interactive Integrations, you can replace the certificate yourself whenever needed.
  • You no longer need to raise a Service Request (SR) for this.

We'll gradually release each update over a 30-day period starting July 18.

These updates will be made available to all instances.

Calendario de fechas de actualización

Features are gradually rolled out to each instance over a 30-day period, starting from the indicated dates below. You may not see all updates immediately. We can’t guarantee a global rollout of features across instances within the same timeframe. Oracle Aconex Mobile is updated in the fourth week of the month.

While we endeavour to keep this information complete and accurate, we advise you to thoroughly test and confirm feature availability before implementing new processes on your project. This information is accurate at the time of publishing and is subject to change without notice. Learn more about our release process.
