Configure reviewer actions for test plans

Setup reviewer actions such as Hold Points and Witness Points to ensure quality and compliance.

Use Reviewer Actions to require inspections and approvals at crucial stages of a test plan. This helps to prevent issues and promotes traceability and communication. Reviewer actions are assigned to reviewers in a test plan.

Things to note:

  • Users with Admin and Associate roles can configure Reviewer Actions. Learn more about Test Plan roles
  • Reviewer Actions can be added by users from any organization. Once added, they are visible to all organizations on the project.
  • Reviewer Actions cannot be deleted, but you can rename or hide them. Once hidden, the Reviewer Action will not be available for use in any future template creation.
  • Hold Point and Witness Point are default reviewer actions on all projects. They can be marked hidden if they are not required on your project.

Note

Test Plans is currently only available to projects on the KSA1 and MEA Aconex instances. We'll continue to develop features based on feedback and announce availability for other Aconex instances at a later date. Make sure you subscribe to Release Highlights to be notified.

How do reviewer actions work?

  • If you use the system defined Hold Point on an activity, you cannot start any activities below it. The hold point must be released before you can start the next activities.
  • If you use the system defined Witness Point on an activity, the reviewer will be notified to review the activity, but the next activities can be started.
  • If you use a custom reviewer action (that your organization created) on an activity, the reviewer will be notified to review the activity, but the next activities can be started.

Create a custom reviewer action

  1. From the main navigation menu, click Field and select Settings.
  2. Click Test Plans and select Reviewer Actions.
  3. Type the name of the Reviewer Action and click Add.
  4. (Optional) Click the pencil icon to rename the Reviewer Action.
