Create an Integration ID for Basic Auth

If you want to use API's you'll need either an OAuth Client (for OAuth) or an Integration ID (for Basic Auth).

Follow these steps to request an Integration ID for use with Basic Authentication.

Tip!

Oracle strongly recommends the use of OAuth as it provides a higher level of security. See Implement OAuth

Basic Auth does not support Two-Step Verification (2SV) or Single Sign-On (SSO) user accounts. Only Oracle Aconex Customers can use Basic Auth. Oracle Technology Partners (software vendors) must use OAuth.

Basic Authentication (also known as Basic Auth) involves sending the credentials of a user account (username and password) with every API request. Org Admins can also assign permissions to allow users to create, view, update and deactivate integration IDs within your organization.

An Integration ID can only be used on the Aconex instance it was created on. You must create a separate Integration ID for each instance of Aconex you want to integrate with.

  1. Log in to Aconex.
  2. From the top navigation menu click Setup and select Integration IDs.
  1. If your organization has previously created Integration IDs, you'll see them listed here. Click Create Integration ID.

Tip!

If your Integration ID was created before February 2025, where possible we've included the service request number in its name, so you can look up what is was for. We recommend you update the name to be more meaningful.
  1. Complete the details for your new Integration ID:
  • Enter a unique and meaningful Name that describes the purpose of the integration. For example: Majestic Inc. Package Builder.
  • Enter a meaningful Description. For example: Connects Majestic's Package Builder with Aconex.
  • Check the box to accept the terms of use. You must accept the terms of use for every Integration ID you create.
  1. Click Create. Your Integration ID will be available to use immediately.
