Share test plans and templates with other organizations

Share your test plans and/or test plan templates for visibility, standardization, and collaboration.

When you share a test plan template with another organization, they can use it to create test plans. They cannot edit the template since they didn't create it. If you edit the shared template, the updated template will be available to other organizations once you publish it.

Test Plans is currently only available to projects on the KSA1 and MEA Aconex instances. We'll continue to develop features based on feedback and announce availability for other Aconex instances at a later date. Make sure you subscribe to Release Highlights to be notified.

Share a test plan template

If you are an Admin or Associate you can share a template with other organizations on the project.

  1. From the main navigation menu, click Field and select Settings.
  2. Click Test Plans and select Templates.
  3. You'll see all templates created by or shared with your organization. You can only share templates that are created and published by your organization.
  4. Click the three dots menu for the template you want to share, and select Share.
  5. Choose the organizations you want to share with and click Share. You'll only be able to select organizations you work with (that you added to the field directory). You can deselect organizations to unshare the template.
  6. The most recent published version of the template will be shared. 

Note: Sharing templates does not share the inspection templates or linked documents within the template automatically with the recipient organization. Inspections templates need to be shared separately and documents need to be transmitted to the recipient organization.

Hinweis

To share multiple templates at once, select them and click Share.

Share all test plans

If you are an Admin or Associate you can share all test plans created by your organization with other organizations on the project. You cannot share test plans created by other organizations.

  1. From the main navigation menu, click Field and select Settings.
  2. Click Field Directory and select Organizations you work with.
  3. Select the organization you want to share all your test plans with.
  4. Check Test Plans and click Save. 
  5. All test plans created and activated by your organization will be shared with the organization as read-only. Note: If the recipient or its users are also participants in a specific test plan, they can continue to access that test plan as per their role.

Note: Sharing test plans does not share the inspections and linked documents within the test plan automatically with the recipient organization. Inspections and issues need to be shared from the Organizations you work with screen, and linked documents need to be transmitted. If inspections and issues are not shared with the recipient organization, they will still be visible in the test plan but will not be visible in the issues or inspections list. If linked documents are not transmitted to the recipient organization, they will not be visible in the test plan.
