What happens if you find a corrupt or infected file?

What to do if you receive a warning when interacting with a file in Aconex.

Files uploaded to Aconex are scanned for viruses and other malicious content. This further protects your organization against threats, and reduces the risk of infected files being shared, in addition to your organization's existing antivirus measures. This does not replace antivirus measures implemented by your organization and Oracle will not be liable for any corrupt or infected files.

If Aconex detects that a file in your project is corrupt or infected, it will isolate it to prevent it from being downloaded or shared. Isolated files cannot be retrieved. For example, if you try to download an infected file, you'll see a message that the file is infected and cannot be downloaded. If you zip download multiple files, any infected files detected in the zip will be replaced with a text file to advise it cannot be downloaded.

File scanning applies across areas of Aconex where you interact with files including Mail, Packages, Tenders, and Supplier Documents. On the mobile app, file scanning applies to Mail, Documents and Drawings. All file types (including .zip) are scanned. Files uploaded before file scanning was enabled will not be scanned.

If you are alerted of a corrupt or infected file, tell the originator/owner of the file, their Org Admins, and all recipients immediately. Contact your IT department so they can take antivirus measures.

When are users alerted of a corrupt or infected file?

Only a person who tries to download the file will be alerted if there is an issue. To provide the fastest uploading experience we are unable to directly notify the uploader.

On download, a message is displayed immediately on screen to the user who attempted to download the corrupt or infected file.

If you zip download multiple files, any infected files detected in the zip will be replaced with a text file to advise it cannot be downloaded.
