Can I bulk upload all my documents in a single worksheet?

By default, the bulk upload template has a separate tab for each Document Type. This helps you organize the information to upload. You may prefer to input all information on a single worksheet. While this is possible, the data needs to be formatted in exactly the right way for the upload to succeed.

  1. Download the template (TemplateMetadata.xlsx) and open it in Excel.
  2. If your document types have project fields applied to them, copy all columns (fields) used on all your document types into one worksheet. Make sure no columns are missing or duplicated.
  3. Fill out all the required information for your documents in the single worksheet. Do not complete the Type field yet; leave it blank for now.
  4. With the completed worksheet open, save the template as a CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv) file. All other worksheets will be removed.
  5. Enter the document type information manually. Make sure each type matches how it's displayed in Aconex.
  6. Save the template.
  7. Import the template to Aconex.
