Check the layout matches the data model (using the online editor)
- If you changed your data model (for example, you added or deleted attributes) then you need to make sure these changes are applied to your layout.
- Confirm if any of the charts used in the layout are causing the failure. For each chart, check if the report runs after removing:
-
any attribute incorrectly used as a series, label, or value.
-
the filters applied.
-
any grouping used on table or pivot charts.

Find and remove invalid characters
- Check your data for invalid characters. As an example, sometimes data copied from Excel contains invalid characters. You can apply different filters in the report to help you identify which record is causing the failure.
- If you ran a standard report (or a custom report that is shared with another project), try and run this same report from another project. This will help you identify if the character belongs to a particular project.
- Once you identify the invalid character, edit the record and remove it. You may need to repeat steps 1-3 to find and remove special characters across multiple records.
- If you are unable to edit the record please contact us.
If there are no invalid characters, then the report may fail due to the amount of data being requested. Use filters to reduce the amount of data in the report and try again.
