Transmit your document

If you need to share a file with people in another organization, you can do so using transmittal.

Create a transmittal

Before you begin, make sure your document is in Aconex. If it's not follow the instructions to add a document into Aconex first. 

Tip!

There is a maximum number of documents that can be sent on any one transmittal.

  1. Select your project from the Project Selector at the top of the screen.
  1. Click Documents.
  2. Under Search click Document Register.
  1. Enter as many details as you can about the document in the search fields. The more details you enter, the quicker you'll find the documents. If you don't know any of the details you can skip this step. Learn how to search for documents.
  1. Click the Search button.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the documents you want to transmit.
  3. Click the Transmit button.
  4. Select Create a transmittal.
  1. Complete all the mandatory fields, which are marked with an asterisk.
  2. (optional) If required, select any Attributes you want to associate with the transmittal. Learn more about creating mail
  1. Click Send
  1. You'll see a confirmation that the transmittal has been sent. The documents you included will automatically be updated in the recipient organizations' document registers.

    Note: If you sent a large number of documents, you (and the recipients) will see a message that the transmittal is being processed. This should complete within five minutes and the message will clear. Learn more about working with a large number of documents.

Tip!

Some organizations are required to manually update their document register from a transmittal.
