By default, the bulk upload template has a separate tab for each Document Type. This helps you organize the information to upload. You may prefer to input all information on a single worksheet. While this is possible, the data needs to be formatted in exactly the right way for the upload to succeed.
- Download the template (TemplateMetadata.xlsx) and open it in Excel.
- If your document types have project fields applied to them, copy all columns (fields) used on all your document types into one worksheet. Make sure no columns are missing or duplicated.
- Fill out all the required information for your documents in the single worksheet. Do not complete the Type field yet; leave it blank for now.
- With the completed worksheet open, save the template as a CSV (Comma delimited) (*.csv) file. All other worksheets will be removed.
- Enter the document type information manually. Make sure each type matches how it's displayed in Aconex.
- Save the template.
- Import the template to Aconex.
