What is a home organization?

In the Lobby, all users have a home organization. By default, the home organization is the organization the account was created from.

What does the home organization do?
The home organization ensures users are taken through the correct login flow, based on your organization's requirements. For example, if your organization uses Single Sign-On, your users won't need to enter a password. The home organization should be set correctly so all users are directed through your organization's SSO flow, and not prompted for a password.

What happens if a user doesn't have a home organization?
Users who previously had a global login account may show as not having a home organization. As an admin, you should set the correct home organization for all your users to ensure they are directed through the appropriate login flow.

Are there benefits if all users have the same home organization?
Yes. It ensures your users are directed through the appropriate login flow. If you administer multiple Aconex organizations and all of them are assigned to use the same identity domain, then your users can be assigned to any home organization and they will all have the same login experience.

When setting the home organization for a user a message says "User account(s) are being moved to a new identity domain, user account is being moved this may change the way the user signs in".
What changes might the user see?
If your organization is configuring SSO, this message means the user will now see the SSO login flow instead of the username/password flow.
Note: After you've changed a user's home organization, the user will need to click the Change User Icon on the sign-in screen when they next sign in. They will then need to enter their email address again. This is required to clear the browser cookies and direct the user to the new login flow for your organization's identity domain.

When setting the home organization for a user a tick box states "Send users an email to set password when identity domain changes".
Do we need to tick this box?

If you are using SSO, then you should NOT select this option.
You should only select this option if you are moving a user to an identity domain that is not configured for SSO, because a new password is required to log in.
