Reuse a report template layout

Save time with reusable layouts

Download the template file

  1. From the menu, select Insights > Reports.
  2. Select the Custom tab.
  3. Find the report that contains the template (layout) you want to reuse for another report.
  4. Click the ellipsis menu and select Add/Edit Layout.
  5. From the layout listing page, select View a list.
  6. Under the Template File column, click on the template .xpt to download the XPT to your computer.

Upload the template file

  1. From the Custom tab in Reports, find the report where you want to use the template.
  2. Click the ellipsis menu and select Add/Edit Layout.
  3. Click on Add New Layout.
  4. Click Upload.
  5. From the popup window, enter a layout name.
  6. Click Choose File and select the XPT file from your computer that you downloaded in previous steps.
  7. Select BI Publisher Template from the Type dropdown.
  8. Select a locale.
  9. Click Upload.
  10. The new layout will appear on the layout editor listing page.
  11. Click Edit to modify the uploaded template.

Tip!

To view your layout, run the report from the reports listing page, and switch layout (if required).

The data model must have all the attributes used in the layout you uploaded.
