Change an inspection's status on Mobile

Is the Inspection in progress or closed? Changing its status is easy.

An inspection can have one of three statuses: Not Started, In Progress, or Closed

Inspections with a status of Not Started or In Progress are open and can be worked on; a closed inspection can’t. You can close an inspection at any time, even before all items have a response—if, for example, it contains more items than are available for inspection. You can also reopen an inspection that’s been closed if you want to keep working on it. You'll be asked to provide a reason for reopening.

Tip!

  • An Inspection’s status doesn’t reflect how complete the checklist is: it indicates whether or not the checklist can be worked on.
  • If an Inspection has mandatory fields, these have to be filled in before it can be closed.
  1. Select your project location using the location selector.
  2. Tap the Inspections tab to see the inspections in use at your location.
  3. Tap the inspection whose status you want to change, then:
  • If you are viewing a checklist tap Change Status, to update it.
  • If you are viewing a form tap the icon to go to Form Properties, then tap Status to go to the Status page.
  1. Select the status you want to give the Inspection, either Not Started, In Progress, or Closed. The new status is saved automatically.

Tip!

If an inspection is In Progress you cannot set the status as Not Started.
