Import design issues in bulk with a BCF file

Use the BCF import tool to import multiple design issues from external applications into your Design Issue Register.

Tip!

Import BCF is included with Model Coordination. Speak to your Oracle Aconex representative for more information. You'll first need to produce your BCF file from an external tool. Supports BCF 2.0, BCF 2.1 and BCF 3.0.

Importing the BCF file

  1. Log into Aconex and select your project.
  2. From the menu click Models, then select Issues.
  3. From the top right, click Import BCF Issues.
  4. Drag and drop your BCF file to the area shown or click the + to select the BCF file from your computer.
  5. Click Import.
  6. Once the upload completes, Aconex will automatically scan the file and show you the list of issues ready for import.
  7. Fix any errors highlighted in red.
  8. Any issues that already exist in Aconex will be indicated by their Issue number. All other issues will be shown as 'New'.
  9. Update issue details such as Type, Title, Status, and Assignee as required.
  10. After making your changes select the issues you wish to import and click Import.  
  11. Your imported issues will now be visible in the issues list .

Resolving Errors

  1. Errors identified by Aconex will be highlighted in red. See the example below.
  2. To fix an error click into the cell highlighted in red. 
  3. Aconex will advise the reason for the error and provide you with assistance to resolve it.
  4. In this example the issue type 'Info' is invalid. We need to select from the list of valid Issue Types.
  1. Continue clicking into each highlighted cell to resolve each error.
  2. Select the issues as required and click Import
