Delete a package

Delete unwanted packages and keep your package register clean.

Sometimes mistakes happen, for example, you’ve created a package with the wrong package type. Or you copy too many lines into a Package Type Excel template, which then creates too many packages when you run the bulk creation process. Fortunately you can easily delete the extra ones and keep only those you really want in your register. See also Marking Package as no longer in use.

Tip!

You can only delete empty packages, i.e. ones that have no content. This means that if you’ve added a document, attachment, or mail to a package, you cannot delete it even if you remove the files you’ve added to it. This also applies to Package Transmittals and Reviews, to packages you’ve sent out, and to packages in the review process.

You cannot delete a package that has child packages that have content, have been transmitted, or have been placed into a review process.

You cannot undelete a deleted package.

  1. Find the packages you want to delete and select them.
  2. Click Package Management and select Delete.
  1. Review the list of packages to ensure only the ones you want to delete have been selected, then click Delete Packages.
Note: Deleting a package will also delete all of its child packages.

Tip!

Remember, you cannot undelete a deleted package.
