View and export object properties

Create a list of object properties from your models and export them for further analysis.

The Selected Objects list helps you create a specific list of objects and their properties. Select the objects you want to view properties for, then decided what properties you want to see. You can then export to CSV to review or import into other applications. This is useful for example, to ensure your model meets the required standards and project specifications. Plus it can help you determine what materials are required for construction.

We'll remember your chosen columns next time you visit the model viewer, unless you clear your browser cache.

Tip!

This feature is available from the August 2025 release. See Release Notes

Open the selected objects list

  1. Build the list of objects by:
  • Selecting objects in the viewer.
  • Selecting objects from the explorer trees.
  • Running an object search. The list will open and populate when you click Search. If the found objects have been deselected, you can click Select Found Objects to populate the list again.

  1. Open the list from the icon on the toolbar, or from the selected objects link at the bottom of the screen.
  1. Under the Actions column:
  • Click the zoom button to navigate to an object in the viewer.
  • Click the delete button to deselect an object.

Choose properties to display

By default, the object list contains common properties used by IFC and Autodesk formats.

  1. Click Columns to choose which properties you want to see.
  1. Search for properties in both the Available and Selected columns.
  2. Check the box to choose a set or individual properties.
  3. Remove column by clicking on the trash icon.
  4. To change the order of the columns, click a column, then drag and drop to it to the required position.

Tip!

Properties in the Available columns list come from the models currently loaded into the viewer. They are grouped by property set. You can expand a property set to show the individual properties within it.

Export the properties list

  1. Click Export to download a CSV file of the list of objects and their properties.

Note: Do not leave the screen while the file is being generated. For Chrome and Edge browsers, if the export generation is cancelled, then a partial export file will be created. The export may take a while if you have a large number of columns and objects.
