Working with drawings on Mobile

Learn how to work with drawings in Oracle Aconex Mobile.

Next to the preview of each drawing you’ll see: the drawing number, the drawing title, the discipline, the revision and modified date.

Let’s take a look at the tools available once you select the drawing you’d like to review.

You can manipulate an image using the tools in the toolbar. These are:

  1. Add an issue pin/pin an issue
  2. Filtering the pins on the drawing
  3. Download a drawing to your device for offline use
  4. Collapse/expand image.

You can also:

  • pinch in to zoom in on an image and pinch out to zoom out.
  • pan around an image use one finger.

If the tool bar is in the way when you zoom in, you can move it to the either side of your screen, or tap the icon at the bottom of the toolbar to make it smaller.

Tip!

Keep in mind the quality of your image when you zoom in is dependent on the quality of the PDF that has been uploaded. If you zoom in and the image is distorted this is because the original PDF is poor quality. Doc controllers should ensure they only upload high res PDFs.

Tap on the “I” icon at the bottom of the screen to see the properties of the image.

Pinning issues

Once you’re happy with where you’ve put the issue, you can open the form and enter the details of the issue. You can also position the issue based on your area hierarchy.

You can add up to 15 images at the same time.

When you’ve finished, tap Save.

Tip!

You can also add issues from the Issues module. See also Issues for Mobile, and Pinning issues, for information on how to pin issues to drawings.

You’ll notice a small mobile icon appear on your issue, this means that the issue is captured on your device. Once you connect to the internet, the issue will automatically upload to the server. The icon will disappear from the issue when the upload’s complete.

Tip!

Pins are saved over the top of the actual drawings on their own separate layer, so as not to interfere with the contents of the drawing.  This ensues contractual commitments are not changed at all when you add pins to drawings.
