Model Coordination Administrator

Clash spaces can only be created by organizations with permission granted.

A clash space is a defined space where project teams coordinate specific areas of a building. This could represent the whole building or a partial area within a project.

Project owners manage which organizations have access to this coordination space and what their roles are in the process.

Create a clash space

To create a clash space you will need to define:

  • the project participants that are part of the team
  • the zones and areas that are included
  • the models you are testing in the project.
  1. From the top navigation click Models, then select Clash Detection.
  1. Create a new space by clicking Create space from the three dots menu.

Tip!

If this is the first time your organization is using clash, you will arrive on an information page. Click Get Started.

  1. Give your space a name. You can use the name of your building, or if you are running a more granular process you can use the name of the area, like “BASEMENT-LEVEL 10”.
  2. Add your participants. Participants can be given one of three different roles:
  • Owners edit the clash space, invite more users, create tests, add design issues, and view results.
  • Contributors see clashes and create design issues from them.
  • Viewers see the results of the tests in the space.

Note: When a user is invited to a clash space, all members of their organization will see the space as Viewers.

  1. Select a zone breakdown for the space, or create a new one by clicking Create zone.
  2. Select models to use in the clash space then click Add.
  3. Once all details are entered, click Create Clash Space from the top right.

Tip!

Models added to a clash space are available for selection in clash tests.

Add another clash space

Once a clash space is created, administrators can create additional ones for separate teams or have more defined tests across different areas. This allows project teams to manage different scopes in dedicated spaces.

To create an additional space click Create Space from the three dots menu.

Edit a clash space

Projects change as they get developed, they add new organizations or sometimes there’s a scope change from the original design. All spaces created in a project can be edited by the space owners.

  1. To edit a clash space, select the clash space you want to edit. You may need to switch spaces by clicking Change clash space.
  2. Select Edit space from the three dots menu.
  3. Modify space participants, their access role, and the zone breakdown as required.
  4. Click Save to update the space with your changes.
