Integrate with the Early Access Environment

Oracle provides an Early Access (EA) environment for the Smart Construction Platform, consisting of an Early Access (EA) Lobby and an Early Access Aconex instance (EA1), for the purpose of testing integrations in a non-production environment.

The Early Access Lobby is located at https://constructionandengineering-ea.oraclecloud.com.

The Aconex EA1 instance is located at https://ea1.aconex.com.

Note: The Early Access Environment is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis to Oracle Aconex Customers and Oracle Technology Partners for “early access” proof of concept, integration, and testing purposes only and is not permitted for production use.

Any data or content you create or upload in this environment may be deleted, corrupted, or unavailable at any time without warning.

You are prohibited from uploading or creating any production data or content in this environment.

Note: The Early Access (EA) Lobby and the Early Access Aconex instance (EA1) are not the same as the Oracle Aconex Early Access Cloud Services (which are for production use).

Register your Organization

The first step to gain access to the Early Access environment is to register your organization on Aconex EA1 by completing the registration form at https://ea1.aconex.com/OrganizationRegistration.

Following registration, you will receive an email from Aconex with the details of your user account on Aconex EA1 as an Organization Administrator.

Your user account will be invited to a brand new Aconex project.

Create a Lobby Account

Create a Lobby account on the EA Lobby and link your Aconex EA1 user account by following the instructions at Create a Lobby account.

This will create an organization on EA Lobby that is linked to your Aconex EA1 organization.

(Optional) Link your EA Lobby Organization to your Identity Domain

If you have your own Identity Domain, you may wish to link your EA Lobby organization to your Identity Domain so that you can manage the EA users and the sign in policy for those users.

Follow these steps to link your EA Lobby organization to your Identity Domain:

  1. Visit the Oracle Construction and Engineering Support Portal
  2. If you have a support portal account click Sign In/Sign Up and Sign In. We recommend you create an account so you can track your requests, but you can choose to skip this.
  3. Click Ask a Question
  4. From the Product dropdown, select Aconex
  5. From the Service Type dropdown, select General Support Request
  6. From the Category dropdown, select Administration General
  7. Enter a Subject similar to "Link my EA Lobby Organization to my Identity Domain"
  8. In the What is your question?: text area, include the following information:
    • The ID for the IDCS account. The easiest way to do this is to copy the Domain URL found in the OCI console.
    • The Organization ID(s) for your EA Lobby Organization. You can find this in the Organizations Directory page, in the Organization ID column.  Make sure you are logged into EA Lobby.
  9. From the Instance dropdown, select Not applicable
  10. Enter your Contact Information and any Additional Contacts for this request
  11. Click Submit Request
  12. Your request will be processed and updates provided via that request

Once this request has been completed, any users of your Lobby EA Organization will be moved to your Identity Domain (if they don't already exist there) and will need to reset their password to access the Lobby EA environment.

Create Test Data

Create test data as required for your testing.

The types of data or records you'll need to create will depend on what your integration does. Support Central is full of articles with details covering everything you'll need to do.  You can get started with our Essentials articles:

Create an OAuth Client

To test your Aconex API integration on EA, follow the steps to create an OAuth Client.

Follow the instructions at Implement OAuth when building your integration.

Test it thoroughly before integrating it with your live projects on a production instance.
