High Compliance OCI migration and Lobby implementation

The Aconex High Compliance instances are migrating to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This brings many important changes including a new login experience.

We're migrating the USGOV and USDOD Oracle Aconex instances to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), enabling your organization to benefit from enhanced performance, improved security, and more flexible technology capabilities. As part of this upgrade, there are changes to the Aconex sign-in experience, new security requirements, and new capabilities to help you manage your projects.

What's changing?

  • We're introducing the Lobby, a new sign-in experience to access all your projects and accounts within an Oracle Cloud Realm from one place, using your email address.
  • There are new URLs for the High Compliance Lobbys (a separate Lobby for USGOV and USDOD). Users can access Aconex directly from the instance URL, or from the appropriate Lobby URL. Each High Compliance environment has its own separate Lobby, which are separate from the Commercial Lobby.
  • The USGOV and USDOD instances have new URLs too. Your IT department may need to add the new URLs to your organization's corporate allowlist.
  • All projects will be enabled with new Aconex features.

Changes to sign-in and account security

Following the migration:

  • All SSO users must ask their Org Admin to create a Lobby account for them. They'll continue to sign in using their email address.
  • All non-SSO users will be prompted to create a Lobby account after signing in to Aconex using their email address and password.
    • Users will be taken through a guided process to create the account.
    • During the process, users will be required to set up two-step verification (2SV) for their Lobby account. Important: This replaces the 2SV code you previously entered to access your Aconex account. Your authenticator app will generate a new code for your Lobby account each time you access Aconex.
    • Org Admins can create Lobby accounts for users in their organization if required.
    • Once a Lobby account has been successfully created, users will sign in to Aconex using their email address, a new password, and a generated 2SV code associated with their Lobby account.
  • Org Admins will be logged out of their account after 10 minutes of inactivity. All other users will be logged out after 15 minutes.
  • If you don't access your account after 35 days, your account access will be automatically deactivated. Your Org Admin can reactivate access for you if required.

Important: If you use both High Compliance instances (USGOV and USDOD), you'll need to create a separate Lobby account for each one. If you already have a Lobby account associated with a commercial Aconex instance (such as US1), you'll still need to create a separate Lobby account for each High Compliance instance where you access your projects.

What are the new URLs for the instances?

The previous instance URLs will redirect to the new URLs for 30 days. Make sure you update your bookmarks after migration.

What are the Lobby URLs?

You can access your projects using the direct Aconex instance URL or from the appropriate Lobby.

What new functionality can I expect after the migration?

Following the migration, the both instances will be upgraded to Aconex release 26.08, providing feature enhancements and improvements. View the release notes.

When will the migration take place?

To complete the migration, scheduled maintenance will be required. During this maintenance window, Aconex will be temporarily unavailable.  We encourage you to subscribe to maintenance notifications to be notified when the migration will take place and be informed of any updates or changes.

USGOV is expected to be migrated from November 20th to November 23rd, 2026.

USDOD will be confirmed at a later date.

What do I need to do?

In preparation for the migration, we recommend that you send this information to your users and partners to ensure there's no disruption in accessing Aconex following the migration. Make sure you review the release notes with details of the upcoming changes to Aconex.
