The Roundup featuring releases August 2023 through to October 2023

Welcome to the final Roundup for 2023. We'll take a look back at some of the biggest improvements to Aconex from the last few months. In this issue, we revisit releases August 2023 through to October 2023, and highlight some features you may have missed.

Adding to packages

  • Now you can add documents to your packages, directly from the document register!
  • Select up to 50 documents and add them to a maximum of 100 packages.
  • This saves you time if, for example, you have a set of standard specifications that apply to many packages.
  • Find your packages faster with the new search.

Do more with Models

  • The model viewer now remembers where you left it, if you click elsewhere in Aconex. This means you no longer have to reload your models each time you return to them.
  • For example, from your model, click your inbox, respond to an RFI, and view a document. Then, go back to your model and continue working where you left off.
  • Infrastructure projects can now upload and view IFC 4.3 files directly in Aconex. Then, use them in Model Coordination processes. Supports horizontal resources such as roads, railways, ports, inland waterways, bridges, and common infrastructure elements.

Capture accurate data in Mail

  • Use project field hierarchies to create relationships on dropdown fields in your mail based processes.
  • This much requested feature helps you capture accurate data when filling out a mail form. For example, selecting a country gives a list of states in that country, and then a list of cities in that state.
  • We've also updated the look and feel when configuring mail forms and restricted fields.
  • The mail editor also has some added formatting tools to deliver you an improved experience while composing mail.

Provide inspection attachments earlier

  • Field admins can now add documents, photos, and other files to inspection templates.
  • This is useful to provide common instructions or specifications for all inspections of a chosen type, such as a safety inspection.
  • Inspectors can view the attachments as soon as they start their inspection.

Noteworthy mentions

  • Project Admins, we know how important your role is so we've launched a new Learning Path to help you more effectively manage your projects.
  • Zip uploads are back. Thanks to your feedback, the new upload now supports zip file extraction.
  • Lobby admins can now deactivate user accounts without needing to raise a service request.
  • Cost admins, you can now create direct actuals in previous reporting periods. If you created or imported direct actuals, you can now edit these too.
  • We've improved your experience while using the Model Coordination Navisworks plugin. Update, group, and manage clashes in Navisworks, and see the updates instantly via the plugin.
